2 scum firesprays

By darthmorti, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Kath with calculation,recon spec, hlc

Emon proxy mine x 3, title, and ei

Total 97

This leaves me 3 points to play with. Any ideas on the extraextra. Also looking for thought on the build its self. Also idea with kath, she gets to roll 4 dice all the time and sometimes 5 out of the back. She can also use the focus like normal or change up to 2 eyes to crits which is nice with the hlc.

I don't think the HLC is necessary on ships already that expensive, especially when there are a couple weaknesses that need addressing (mine dice dependency, list's lack of mobility)

For Kath, I'd break the cannon down into Engine + Push the Limit and exchange the Recon for the Security Droid. Turns the Firespray into an action spamming bugger and allows for easier angling of the butt arc. Faster, spammier Kath should be more efficient against large ships/generics or even flighty buggers if she gets them in arc (especially the rear) which'll give Emon some much needed flexibility.

With the four points left over, I'd give them both feedbacks. Prox mines won't be one-shotting phantoms off the board or even Soontirs with any reliability, and those ******* arc-dodgers aren't going to be much more phased by two arcs when there are only two ships taking up space. Feedback will polish them off with 100% reliability at the cost of one health and one ion (the ion being negligible since apparently no one uses it...the fools) or at the very least discourage them from taking 4-5 dice bites out of your firesprays.

Having played Soontir w/double bounty hunters, I know that two firesprays will slap fatties around but without that third ship you have to be **** certain that the escort dies a horrible 'splody/'zappy death.

I do see the idea behind that build for kath, and its something I may try, and granted you will have a good amount of chances to hit from the front, it seems that the most of the time you are trying to get the in your rear arc and run the whole time. This isn't really my play style so much. I like the idea that I get to get hard until I get close with the chance to take out all shields or put out crits on shieldless targets until I pass then hit them for 4 or 5 from the rear, and if emon in leading the way dropping bombs I have an idea where they will be going.
