I think I am like the vast majority of you on here: eagerly waiting with untold anticipation for this game to get here!!!

There have been many good threads on how many core sets, what to buy to start off with, I forget the OP who had a potential workable squads, with an accompanying shopping list, that thread was GREAT!!

So, the thought occurred to me: there is something we should all be saving some bucks for!

It only takes some time (not sure how long, a month, maybe two?) when MM or other sites, will run their deals of the day, or whatnot, when certain ships may not sell well (I am looking at you Assault Frigate, although its growing on me.) It is this moment, that we should have some money set aside in Pay Pal ready to jump on such "deals." I know MM suckers me in with its "free" shipping over $100.

But this day will come (maybe longer than 2 months), these places will need to move product, can you be "happy" with minimal numbers of a ship? I know I am going to try to keep some money reserved for That Day, and score my 2nd or 3rd, AF and Gladiators.

What say you? Good idea, bad or just plan ugly?

Not a bad idea, particularly for the ships you mentioned. Something like that may convince me to get more fighters than I had originally planned at the very least.

Are the prices usually below the preorder discount?

Both MM and Cool Stuff, usually run those specials at 50% off or lower.

The last "deal of the day" from MM was $28 for $70(msrp) worth of X-Wing ships. Such a great deal, really...I bought three combos

I have faith that Armada will sell like hot-cakes, have no dud ships and their will be no excess stock to clear at special prices...

The Rebel Assault Frigate is not the prettiest but that broadside is going to make other capitals tremble.

I am sure most of Armada, if not all, will sell quite well.

What's stopping you from playing a 500 point game? It's not like FFG is going to send a swat team and reposses your copy of Armada and the expansions if you pay on a 6x6 mat with 15 ships on each side.
