Dwarves can do that too (just sit there). But they have a extreme weakness their IN is 2. Pit of Shade, Purple Sun of X., with irresistible force will beat them every time. Just put a level 4 Mage in a Phoenix Guard unit and highelves are death machines. Irresistible force is still risky it needs to be done if the death toll (on other side) will be higher.

It's looking more like they are going to combine factions for WHFB, not remove any. Due to End Times Elves are now one faction, Chaos Daemons, Chaos Warriors, and Beastmen are one faction.

What I was thinking they are up to with the END TIMES is a whole new Warhammer. 40,000 years is a loooong time I thought they might do armies in the middle of both WF and 40k. Where are things in 20,000 years? Or 10,000. Maybe something like this. We know how it is after 40,000 years but what happened In between all that time. They certainly didn't have Space Marines right after all that. So what where the armies looking like after End Times. Introducing WarhammerK.

Seriously? Skaven dialed 911 lol. Doesn't the god of Kain and the Avatar for Eldar look similar to you or is that just me? Well then I think I know what happens to Skaven Eldar kill them once they get there.

Looking at the recent releases I think it's not abnormal if Chaos would be represented in a single book again.

My problem with 8th ed is Calvary the price tag of these guys and their survivability is borderline useless. IRL I don't see how anybody would sign up for Calvary if they knew they weren't coming back after. So I don't see how they (GW) think this is how it was. Anyways that's my problem with it. With Terrain you just get used to it or don't use it but we've always did.

..Back to Calvary we once tested an army of just Calvary (highelves) vs and army of equal points value and the result is why are they priced with high points value? If they are going to die after charge they need to be super good on the charge to me to make them MORE useful. Chariots are better then Calvary and are cheaper too. I've never played 40k but I'll admit it seems to be the better game between the two. Calvary still have uses though but the uses to me are stupid when something else can do it better. Like charging war machines lol no more flying high!

Well Cav used to be an issue in 7th so I can understand why they switched back to infantry being more important.

I can remember the days of 7th like yesterday where playing a huge ammount of infantry blocks didnt really mean much. Because you could only hit with your first rank anyways.

What I hope is that terrain will be more of an influence for the game in combination with alternative objectives.

The main reason why Cav got "nerfed" in 8th is because it was so OP in 7th.

That's true but they need to find a happy medium for both. About terrain, only issue I have with it is trying to teach someone new how it works and how to work around with your army. They need to just keep it supper simple but it should never be irritating to use (maybe irritating for models) as a player. Let's face it sometime you just don't want it there in WFB. But I agree I'd love to see better tactical depth in WFB. For the most part I liked 8th better then 7th when I played it. Think they have things right but Calvary still needs work.

Have to admit it's been a while since I played Warhammer but I do think that 2 wounded Cav would make sence and grand them some exceptional ability to stay alive.

Another thing I personally would be a fan of would be a change in Cav that they can always reform like Light Cav but Light Cav can make an additional move after their first. The same is applied in WarmaHordes.

Heavy Cav has the advantage of simply hitting harder and being able to trample trough units. (in a way trampling can be like impact hits in WFB, 1 impact hit would be sufficient and reasonable on the charge)

Light Cav has a 5" additional move (in any direction) after their initial move. (in a way I feel for WFB it would be cool for Light Cav to have an additional Light Cav move [normal movement] after all units have moved)

Another alternative I'd really like to see is WFB units being able to break rank at will. Which would simply said allow you to reform the unit during a charge. Being set into battle after that.

- The main reason I would like this is because it would be more correct in terms of historical battle and could simply allow the game to be functional with 2 attacking ranks max (3 for spearmen).

I guess we could go really far into this topic aswell... Altough it's off-topic.

I thought if something similar or giving Calvary (all) two attacks each if GW insists on wanting them to die after at least they'll bite a little harder on charge. Some fast Calvary are pretty nasty in the WFB game like Woodelves think that would make them to OP it's hard enough to kill them as is. I know I'd like that for Highelf Reavers though.

They have that in 8th it's called Swift Reform, and they also have Combat Reform which is also useful.

Oh yeah I could go on and on on this stuff...

@ everyone who said the end times is merging the factions: I know. And i approve. In the case of chaos and undead they get back to their 4th edition roots. (Huzaaah!) but the lizardmen, a) have nothing to merge with, and b) were once part of 40k waaaay back when it was still caled Rogue Trader. So thats why i was wondering if they might pop up one day.

And if you think that will never happen: I tought the same thing about the Jokaero. And teh harlequins are a full fledged army in their own right again! (yaaaaaaaaaaaay!!!)

Yeah LM are here to stay. To unique to drop imho altough my gut feeling is that factions will combine but not change greatly.

WarmaHordes brings minions which essentially are Skaven and Lizardmen but cant co-op. I feel LM and SK could be the same. The enemies of the jungles and undergrounds.

Also with clan pestilence getting kicked out of Lustria and now going back to Lustria for the ultimate grudgematch.

Both Khador being my main faction and silently collecting Legion as a second. Altough still Khador is my prefered faction of the two.

A LM and Skaven book would work for me at least. As much as s Human and Dwarf collective, Elven collective, Undead collective and Orks, Goblin and Ogre collective.
