Well guys we just recieved the SoTG I must say it was rather exciting. With all the new bans and erratas what will become of the symbols. What are the best symbols now? What's better control or aggro? What will be the characters to beat as we get ready for Worlds.

Lets Discuss:

Life. Hands down.

My favorite symbol to run right now is good. It has only gotten better after all these banning, and it still has the ability to run Kitty spike with the multiple 2.

Good is mad hot, considering it has so many answers to one-shot attacks that (IMO) will see a lot of play with Rejection gone.

Earth retains its ability to tank with unholy effectiveness, and holds one of the fairly few answers to Ira-Spinta.

Death aggro is IMO the strongest in the game, and it's also got a lot of very strong control pieces at fairly low difficulties in many cases.

Akuma was unaffected by the bans

so tell me how does the good akuma deck now kill then ???

Depends on the symbol. Evil lost none of its stereotypical line-up (Flayer, Tachi, Launcher, Breaker). Fire has access to 3 of those, and Protoaddict's janktastic Akuma deck wrecked face with Melancholy, and Void still has Kuzu, Lunar Slash, etc.

I don't know who came up with the idea of stall Akuma (Tiger Fury = only attack? Uh, I guess), but the loss of Tiger Fury is of little importance to Akuma. Let's not forget, he still gets A New Low + Ira-Spinta/Heel Snipe.

well i can answer one question there

i did come up with the tiger fury deck, that attack never got used and i hated all the "meta attacks at the time"

But as I said, Akuma losing Tiger Fury means little. He has a lot at his disposal, and while Destiny may end up seeing more play now that Olcadan's is out of the picture, Akuma's still got an amazing E Commit and good symbol spread.

i would say air got really hurt by the bannings, evil was barely hurt, and order got weaker, just not that much weaker. i think right now evil is probably the top symbol, but death, order, earth, good, all, air, or fire could al prolly win worlds. i think earth hanzo punch will be a force to be reckoned with. brooding is soo nasty with loopage.

Earth is gonna tank, yo!

I think with the recent bannings the return of good old void control will possibly begin its comeback trial...earth will start turning into a tanking beatdown deck that is possible with many different characters. And finally good will also get its time to shine (I HOPE), character wise Jivatma, Rasotep, Donovan, Olexa off evil or chaos, and finally I believe All will being to be the top tier 1 symbol over both order wind fire or evil...just watch...

i believe with chun li gone , the only thing people might revert to is akuma/andrew olexa new low deck. both chracters have cc hack and able to play just like chun li but a bit slower. either way i'm glad of the ban and i expect to see new decks especailly from me now i have not that much to worry about. after i'm done with this new deck it might get banned.

Akuma still has Reppa's

mill was definately helped by these bans. i hope to join goo in his breaking of block 3 mill.

I hate to interrupt, Teric, but you've ignored every other attempt I've made to contact you. I've been waiting for my cards for over a month now, are you a ripper or is there some other problem?

Hilde was overhyped, as predicted.

While she may have a resurgence, if this aggro scare winds up true, people will definitely be running things like Spiritual Center, Holding Ground, Prince of Darkness, Criminal Past, and to an extent, American Made/Strife's Patronage.

Playing Hilde almost exclusively for about a month, I can say that I am aware of all of those counter cards, but have easily waded through them with my copious amounts of general purpose control cards: Experienced Combatant, Alluring Beauty, Ira Spinta.

That's if the game goes past my Turn 2, considering one of my kill setups (for low vit characters) requires 0 cards in my staging area and making two 4-checks in a row.

Also Cursed Blood for proactive control.
