very important and pertenent question about Aggressors

By ficklegreendice, in X-Wing

can someone tell me why IG-88C is not the cannon guy and IG-88B is not the boost guy?

B was a bounty hunter (hence firepower), while C was more of a behind-the scenes type.

X-wing Miniatures, Episode 6: the Fluff Strikes Back

That's episode 5. Episode 6 is Return of the Dice.

Nope, that was Episode 2.

Episode 1: The Phantom Menace. The Tie Phantom enter the game with wave 4.

Episode 2: The Clone Wars. To stop the Phantom, Everybody take a big turret ship, hence the start of a clone wars.

So, Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith? The Tie Advanced got his fix and Vader enter the scene again.

I thought episode one was just after the core set

Nah, the Core set was Episode 4: a new hope. A new miniature game is made.

Episode 1-2-3 was actually made after 4-5-6 so it makes sense.... Kinda.....

I would agree that Episode I takes place right after the core set and wave one was released.

Episode I Dawn of The TIE Swarm

Episode II Han Shoots First

Episode III Balance of the Lists

Episode IV The Phantom Menace

Episode V Revenge of the Net List Saturation

Episode VI Return of the Rookie Mistakes

Very insightful and creative. Good job.

I spend an inordinate amount of time lurking here. All of the arguing about optimizing builds, new release speculation, and Math Winging have been around since I started reading the Forum back in 2012. Assigning Episodes was as easy as matching it to the wave that "broke the game". LOL.

I would say that the "Every ship must have as few upgrades as possible because Named Ships and High PS aren't worth their cost" isn't a balanced list-state either...

Episode 4: A new Hope. X-Wing Miniatures game is created and bring the hope of a balanced miniature game.

Episode 5: The Empire Strike Back. Not long after the release of the game, the Imperial Tie Swarm strike everywhere as the most effective list.

Episode 6: Return of the Jedi. The rebel come back in force with the B-Wing and Biggs walks the dogs.

Episode 1: The Phantom Menace. The Tie Phantom enter the game and breaks all current fondation of the game; the game is not won just by fielding more ship with few upgrades anymore.

Episode 2: The Clone Wars. To counter the Tie Phantom, the only solution players find is to bring a turret. We now see the same 3-4 list everywhere battling against each other.

Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith. To counter the threat of Soontir Fel with Autothrusters, Darth Vader crew come into the scene more than ever with his automatic crit, soon to be followed when the Raiders and the Tie Advanced title come out with Vader Pilot being one of the meanest ship in the game.

Lucasfilm approved.

I like to think that Episode III never ended. The impetus behind many squads is normally its ability to defeat whatever was considered the elite build of its time. The TIE Swarm, HSF, Three Amigos (Rebel and Imperial), Buffalo Herds, and Dual BH lists never really left, but were instead sidelined as we ventured forward with whatever was the new hotness at the time or making do with what we had to destroy it.

Let's just hope that Episode VII isn't a damp squib.

Cheers
