Although I think I like Admiralcrunch's designs better. They remind me of the platforms from the TIE Fighter games.

I'm assuming you scrolled through. There are several station designs. I thought one of them looked very similar. But I think it was like £50 for the station and £20 for shipping... something like that. I'm betting there's something on shapeways that might serve well, and be a bit cheaper.

What are your ideas on making some adjustments - I don't know how much of a task this will be or how complex/difficult it would be, so that your stations/platforms can be 'built' 3D'ish?

I was browsing for ideas on '3D Cardboard Templates' -the only one that I could find that might convey my idea was from Instructables? Never been there before but, the idea is to 'design' the stations/platforms in a way similar to the below:

I think its an awesome idea, though it would take a bit of work to pull off. The stations aren't that complex...I guess it would depend on how robust it would need to be to look good and be functional. I've never designed anything like that, but it would be very cool.

By the way...I have a 3D template T-Rex on my desk at the moment.
