Session Opening Crawls

By Admiral Terghon, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

I asked this in another thread but decided to expand it into a new topic with additional questions.

  1. What do people use for cinematic opening crawls? I've seen the official crawl creator on the Disney Star Wars page, and it's very buggy for me. There's another one in the resources thread that's smoother and less buggy, but harder to use. Neither support simply saving.
  2. For the cinematic crawls, how are people saving them. Related, how to capture it to YouTube (easily)?
  3. For static opening crawl pages (to be printed) how do you do that?

Thanks in advance!

Here's a few that I made for various adventures. It was based on something I found online, but modified and each combined into a single HTML file:

If you want them, just right-click on the link and do a "Save Link As", or whatever it is for your browser. Then save the HTML file to your hard drive.

They're fairly easy to modify, if you want to make your own. Just edit the file and look for the title and text. Limit the text to about three short paragraphs. If you make your crawl too long, you get to the end of the music and it fades away :)

Oh, and needless to say... please don't use those links as your permanent way of viewing these crawls :) If you want them, just save them locally. DropBox is whiny about bandwidth usage.

I used an ipad app, but it is not great, it often refuses to add the music.

It was called something like crawl creator, not sure as I deleted it.

I wish there was a way to make crawls and upload them to youtube since our group often uses it for soundtracks anyway and theres a big TV with a PS4 in our regular playing are but no computer. Unfortunetly one would get hit by a copyright strike so hard ones head would spin if one uploads anything with the official crawl music attached to it.
