New Tournament FAQ is Out!

By Deltmi, in X-Wing

I saw it posted on FB, but can't find it on the site. Anyway, it clarifies the rule that all dials, pilot cards, and ship tokens must belong to the faction you are playing.

So end of discussion on whether you can use a rebel dial for your scum Z-95 in a tournament...

This FAQ has been superceded by V223. See VorpalSword's post below.

Nice catch! Hopefully this means a new ship FAQ is coming, and we can finally settle the IG-2000/Injured Pilot debates.

Thanks for the heads up, I play in a store championship tomorrow so this was well timed. ;)

A pity that they didn't address Debris Clouds being used in tournaments though. :(

I thought I saw the @FFGOP twitter handle answer that question yesterday...

I notice the ship cap has dropped from 12 Of Same Small and 6 of Same Large to 8 4.

I really want to know why this Scott fellow is using the Rebel Z-95 models with Scum dials. If he has four dials, then he also has four models. I'd probably ask the TO to disqualify him, as he's clearly running a mind game designed to get the opponent to wonder why he isn't using his extra Scum Z95 models, thus distracting the opponent from thinking about the actual game.

You're a jerk, Scott.

I just checked the old FAQ, and it's always been like that for Escalation.

I'm more interested in the Damaged Sensor Array question. I've had this come up 3-4 times since it was first brought up.

I think he was planning on his opponent placing his dial next to the wrong Z-95, and thus Scott would be able to choose his opponet's dial!

I remember that thread. :P

I can see why people would want to use the basic Z models: MW's paint jobs are Black Sun and the rebel ones are generic. (They don't even match the Rebel card art)

Nice. That should please those cross-faction players.

Only to a point, you're still limited by how many base cards you have, in which case is 2 or 3. So with a single MW pack you can use at the most...

3 Z-95's

3 Y-Wings

2 HWK-290s

2 Firesprays

They caved with all the hate mail.

Glad to see it has only taken 1 day from Scum being released for them to go against what they have been saying all along that if you field something as Scum you have to have the Scum dial.

Also love how it says these are the 2014 Rules on page 1. This is the 3rd version that has had Scum legal starting with the revised V2.2.1 and all still say 2014.

Good. It was a dumb rule anyways.

Now can they settle the debate on Oicunn?

Wow, I can't believe that the ruling has (seemingly) been overturned. I wasn't planning on picking up a second Most Wanted anytime soon, so that's good news for me.

Next the link will be a Rick roll video.

Sorry :(

Well, it will be now. ;)

lol

I give FFG more credit than that. I think, after thinking it through, they realized there was no real reason to force that dial rule. They have changed rules like this one in the past. Thank you FFG for always delivering a great product and treating your customers like gold!

To pick a nit... I think they realized that they gain more in good PR then they gained by enforcing the rule, and not because there was no real reason to do it. Perhaps the last few days worth of posts on the issue really did make them think that enough people were unhappy with it and the reasons for doing it were outweighed by upset customers.

I think either way its a win for FFG, if you need the pilot card and ship token for that faction....you'll probably have the dial too if you plan to do a swarm. This only benefits if you plan to run like 3 Z's with one being unique, depending on whats on the two sides of the ship token. Yes I haven't gotten my MW in yet so I don't know exactly.
