Risky Assault

By thestag, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

Have you been sitting around with your gaming group and thinking: "We sure do love Imperial Assault. But we also love other games, like Risk. I wish we could play them both at the same time"? I have just what you're looking for. I call it Risky Assault. Here's part of the synopsis from the rules I just finished drafting:

"Risky Assault is played like a regular game of Star Wars Risk: Original Trilogy Edition, which is similar to standard Risk but limited to 5 players controlling 3 different factions (Rebels, Imperials, Hutts). The main difference between Star Wars Risk and Risky Assault occurs during the battles. In Risky Assault, rather than continuously rolling dice to determine the outcome, a battle similar to a skirmish in Imperial Assault takes place. "

Imperial Assault has Imperials, Rebels and Mercenaries. Star Wars Risk: Original Trilogy Edition has Imperials, Rebels and Hutts. The game practically wrote itself.

I don't how many people out there have the time (days) and resources (Imperial Assault, Star Wars Risk, and some Star Wars Micro Machines) to attempt to play this, but it would be a crime to not share it with the community. I would love any feedback, especially anything regarding rules clarifications and things I may have missed or gotten wrong.

The Risky Assault rules document below is in my Google Drive and anyone can make comments and editing suggestions to it:

There is a "Cones of Dunshire" joke here somewhere, I know it.....gimme a sec.

It's not quite that complicated. But it is time consuming, and a bit of a niche market. Maybe someone will enjoy it someday.
