I don't necessarily want Post Count INSTEAD of points; They aren't necessarily mutually exclusive.

Quick Load times. Yes.

Edit feature. Yes.

Color customization to something that's easy on the eyes. Yes.

The rest of it isn't that important in my book.

The site is cool and all, but PM, Edit and Custom Avatars is a given in any forum. Those options make forums chill, we like chill. I actually expected those functions to be available by now... Come on FFG, I know you're getting it sorted out... Pluhease.

The problem is that while those features exist in a lot of forums, it doesn't mean they are easy to implement. A private messaging system involves a relatively significant amount of database creations, and writing whole new pages for the UI, in addition to adjusting all of the menus. If it's not built into the system they are using already, it's going to take a while to write your own. So if that's the case, I wouldn't expect one for a few months (especially since they're trying to fix all of the stuff that's already in the system first).

I can't recall seeing any major Forum software recently that does NOT have a PM function. If this one "forgot" to put one in, that was bad design on whoever designed it.

Regardless of the "reasons" for the lack of features, the fact is, the features are lacking, whereas the old forums were not. Thus, moving to this forum software for me has been nothing but a major hassle, with no benefits to even make it worthwhile. I have seen nothing about this new forum that makes it "better" than what we had before. And no, the flashier design is not a bonus in my opinion - rather, it's OVERLY flashy, and thus a detriment. I could get used to it if the other stuff that doesn't work gets implemented, but thus far, it doesn't. And thus far, I'd have to say that in my opinion, this transition has been nothing but an utter failure, and has done significant damage to my loyalty toward FFG as a company - if this is how the fans are treated, I'm not sure I want to be involved.

Maybe if there was a bit more effort to TALK to us about expected time periods, etc, it might be one thing. But the complete lack of communication as to what's going on, when things might get fixed, what things will never be added, etc, has been almost as frustrating as the lack of useful features on this flashy piece of cubic zirconium.

The fact that this forum does not have a private messanging system bothers me greatly. I hate giving my email out to strangers.

Yes, except that I don't care either way if there's a post count or a point system. I actually think the point system is kinda fun, and slightly prefer it.

Also, I'd like to be able to subscribe to threads. More than anything else, I'd like to be able to subscribe to threads. It just doesn't work very well for me to keep track of things if I don't visit every day, and I'm more occasional. I'm afraid no subscriptions will move me even further from occasional eventually...
