Well, I have a tournament tomorrow and still have yet to definitely settle on what to fly during it. Scum arrived here in Australia yesterday (well, everything bar the Most Wanted pack, anyway), but I don't have anywhere near enough to run a Scum squadron or enough practice to feel good at it. Thus I'm looking to fly something more familiar, with some new Scum toys thrown in.
The list I got some emergency practice with last night is:
"Scarlet Panic"
Kath Scarlet ("Mangler" Cannon, Rebel Captive, Lone Wolf) [47]
Soontir Fel (Push the Limit, Royal Guard TIE, Stealth Device, Autothrusters) [35]
Dark Curse [16]
98 points
I play the old Baron's Focus list a fair bit, so I'm fairly used to the combination of Slave/Squint/TIE. Kath serves as an anti-Phantom stress machine, while Soontir is the anti-turret ship and Dark Curse just makes a nuisance of himself. On paper, I think it should do well against most two-ship combinations, with Soontir punishing the turret and Kath's stress generation affecting a large portion of the enemy fleet, but something doesn't feel quite right somehow. And the possibility of running into a swarm terrifies me.
The other list I'm thinking of falling back on is one that got me success at a previous tournament:
"The Quick the Fat"
Han Solo (Veteran Instincts, Luke Skywalker, C-3P0, Millennium Falcon) [58]
Jake Farrell (Chardaan Refit, Push the Limit, A-wing Test Pilot, Lone Wolf -or- Outmaneuver, Autothrusters) [29 / 30]
Bandit Squadron Pilot [12]
99 / 100 points
Just your average Fat Han build, really. I'm not too terrified of Interceptors with Autothrusters (Han does move after them and has a K-turn, after all), and VI Han turns the Phantom match into an almost automatic win. My worry here is how much I'm spending on Jake, but... meh, he's fun to fly, and when he has a big, juicy Falcon serving as a distraction is about the only time I can get away with using him.
So, my fellow forumgoers... any suggestions on which I should go with, or what I should change with them?
