With the Release of Scum, Decoy is looking a bit more attractive.

I should say, with the release of Torkil Mux. As his ability triggers at the end of the activation phase, decoy will trade that pesky 0 away from your nice shiny phantom and give it to your high PS support, still netting you all the benefits of advanced cloaking device, or just allowing you to turn something to dust first in general as I'm guessing most lists with Mux in them will have a PS deficiency as a result.

With Decoy /on/ the Phantom, I'd assume? Swarm Tactics on the support also works but the requirement to keep your Phantom on a leash is a bit iffy.

Of course. I actually know someone who's been running a pretty nasty Soontir Fel/Echo combo with decoy on Echo (and one other support ship who I don't recall atm, I feel like its a shuttle of some sort). Granted you'd have to fly it much more differently than you would against anything else, I feel it will be a nice counter to Mux.

I can see one area where it might suffer vs. "standard" Torkil lists - they're full of low-PS blockers. Competent use of blockers to split the support out of the Decoy bubble could be very effective, and not much different from blocking methods already in use.

Played against Torkil last night with Wedge, Keyan, Tala, Bandit. Suffice to say, I need a way to counter it. I kept my heavies at Range 3 in the first volley, so my Tala was reduced to zero. He was cleared before he fired. We were running a one hour timer. he got me down to just Wedge vs Torkil and a Pirate with 1 hull left. Wedge never rolled another hit, so he beat me by 5 points at the clock.

He also had Kavil and Drea as his heavy hitters, so I focused them off first. If I played the same match again, Torkil would take all the hurt.
