I've played one game in 4 months and I'm taking this jank to the tourney this weekend

Lt. Blount (17) + Deadeye (1) + Ion Pulse Missiles (3)

Luke Skywalker (28) + Predator (3) + R2-D2 (4)

Corran Horn (35) + Marksmanship (3) + FCS (2) + Shield Upgrade (4)

= 100 pts

I literally have no idea what I'm doing and no idea what the meta is like. I just like the idea of a guaranteed x2 Ion token from Blount and the general tankiness of Corran. Luke = late game, I guess? Probably won't be a late game with this jank.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Threats?

I actually am interested in real advice, otherwise I wouldn't be taking the plunge straight into a championship.

I would say this is a strong list but it'll still have a tough time vs turrets cause thats the nature of small ships. but if you want to stick to a three ship build this is it imo. Corran is for late game he is just stronger than luke all around. i think for the most part the list is pretty straight forward on how its played.

Corran's Shield --> R2-D2 & Marksmanship --> Push the Limit

(Marksmanship leaves Corran way too vulnerable and doesn't gel with his loaded action bar. Ptl is the opposite. Furthermore, R2-D2 is worth many shield upgrades over the course of a game, and since you're ptling you have no real reason not to green maneuver)

Luke Skywalker's R2-D2 --> engine & predator --> Veteran Instincts + R3-A2

(Corran's green dice just make him more of a pain in the ass with R2-D2. This V.I + R3-A2 + Engine configuration is what I found makes X-wings a terror in the new meta because it's tailor made to neuter powerful ships, which'll continue to be useful going into Wave 6 and the rise of Soontir Fell)

No idea at all if it'll be effective as a squad, but I know those two pilot configurations to be effective individually :)

basically the meta is this: if you see a freaky looking little **** with 3 big fins and four red dice, you get Luke to stress it first thing and then it's just a Tie Fighter with HLC

When that thing's dead, roll dice with the freaky looking fat **** until either you or he keels over. Getting Corran in range 1 can well blow up half of the fat **** in one solid round of shooting.

To be honest I'd say run a green squadron A wing with some toys instead of Blount, the Ion's nice for a turn but then its gone.
