This will be a day long remembered...

... By me at least :)

Great news.

My child will be very happy :)

Great news.

My child will be very happy :)

I second both statements!

Looking forward to see it finally Launched......5 months it took to get completed. Im sure you guys will dig it :)

Congrats

From what I have seen, AWESOME work, cannot wait to see the finished product and neither can my son - A Big Rebels Fan!!!!

Look for the full version to be available tomorrow: Thursday, July 9th

You do realize that if it's not up by 12:01 (or, to put it another way, 78 minuets from now), I will be sorely disappointed. Hell, I'm on the Left Coast. It's already the 9th in New York!

Don't worry here in Spain it's now 12:22, and I'm waiting with patience... :)

Haha sorry for disappointing those looking for a midnight release. It won't be much longer now. I'd give an exact time but I'm not entirely sure which timezone the "auto-publish" feature of the web software uses.

Behold the power of my necromancy.

Any news on Shadows over Tarkentown? it says Q4 2015, was wondering how delayed the book is.

Funny you should ask! We just ran our second (and final) beta test of it tonight!

You can find a more recent thread about it here:

https://community.fantasyflightgames.com/topic/205179-rebels-beginner-game-online-session-players-wanted/

And if you want a decent sneak peek, you can find the pre-made PC portfolios here:

http://www.rpg.buzz/forums/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=87

But to answer your question, all that is left is some tweaks based on the beta tester feedback and the layout of the main adventure book. To use FFG lingo, it's "on the boat." :)

This probably has been caught already, but I was looking at the character folios and I think I spotted an error. On Liau's 4th page, there is the option to boost cool from one rank to two for 10 xp, but as a marauder cool isn't a career or specialization skill. It should cost her 15 XP to get her second rank in cool, not 10. Unless there's something I'm missing...

I wouldn't hold these sheets to the same rules-standard as "normally"-generated PCs. Compare this to the Beginner Box characters for EotE, AoR, and F&D, none of which are very particular about following the same rules as a beginning character from the Core books, and have their own unique Talent trees and power variation.

I haven't checked out the official pre-gens, so I don't know how they're built. I would say it seems like if you're putting together a beginner game with the intention to teach people how to play the game, showing them how to spend XP accurately makes sense to me. Even if it's not the norm, some people continue playing their pregens beyond the beginner box and it could cause confusion when they get beyond the intro adventure.

Hopefully I'm not coming off as a pedantic jerk, I just wanted to point out a possible error I found.

It was great to be a part of the playtest. It's always nice to get some extra time on the other side of the (virtual) GM screen Thanks again for running this. I look forward to the finished product!

So what ever happened to the "No, we're not selling this - but if you want a hard copy, here's the template you take to Book Printers R Us.com so you can do it yourself" movement? I remember something about that some months ago, but don't know what happened to it.

We’ve printed off a few copies that way, and I’m not sure if there are any final tweaks that we want to make to the files for that process. On the copies I got, a number of the images seemed quite a bit darker than I think we wanted.

Once there’s a final decision on this, the tweaked files should be made available.

But you would definitely still need to take those files to the book printing service you want to use, and go through their interface.

We don’t want anyone to be pointing any fingers at us and saying that we’re trying to sell copies of books to content where we don’t own any of the intellectual property.

Since I’m the registered owner of the rpg.buzz site, I am particularly sensitive to this issue.

Actually, you're the first one to mention that, thanks!

I think you're both right. :) They do take some liberties with the "official" beginner PCs, but I also think we should teach the game the right way. I'll probably change this, and I'm open to suggestions for what the new suggested skill should be!

Thanks for your participation! We had a good group and there was some excellent feedback. And the doctor trying to flash papers at the Stormtroopers was a fun scene. :)

As Brad said, we want to be very careful about this and not upset the wrong people. And it's not quite perfect (but pretty close). Stay tuned!

That is one gorgeous book. Top-notch work on the layout!
