Spark of Rebellion fan made sourcebook in the making.

Yeah it will be free for all of course :)

Awesome.

Is someone working on a deckplan? I tried my hand at one way back before the series even started. It's now defunct due to getting to see more of the insides of the ship during Season 1. I don't have time (eta: or digital artist skill) to return to my endeavor but I did lots of research and would be willing to consult with anyone who had volunteered to do such a mammoth project. :)

Thanks! Im just really trying to take my time and making sure it looks as close to an acutal sourcebook as possible.

So just a quick question to anyone interested in this project. I would just like a lil feedback on what the community would like to see in the sourcebook. We have alot of great material so far from what the group has been throwing together, however Id like to see what you would like to see in it. :)

Well, I would like a few planet pages, some good location background on Lothal, a few of the ships, minor npc stat blocks, and descriptions of the primary NPCs set up like Lando in JoY. Oh and a species description for the big blue guy.

Perhaps a droid option for chopper's brand of astromech, a new attachment for lightsabers for ezra's, and that puffer pig critter.

If you get a chance with an artist, perhaps you could give a broad map of the city, or at least describe city disctricts. There may not be enough info out there to accomplish this one.

C1-10P

Career: Grouch

Specialisation: Psychopath

Amusingly, this came up in conversation recently :)

FangGrip, I've been writing up some of the Lothal stuff, and you're right - what is out there is pretty thin on the ground at the moment. I hope we've managed some reasonable extrapolation however. There isn't a city map anywhere as such, there is some VERY brief description in various sources.

Several of these things are done or planned, good suggestions! ;) I think you'll be pretty happy with the stuff MrDodger came up with for describing Lothal. It really breathes life into the city and gives it some character.

I like the idea of including a map of the city, we'll have to see about that one.

There's actually a fan-made deckplan for the VCX-100 already out there:

Yes I've seen this one. But it doesn't actually match up with what we've now seen in Season 1 at all.

The link below was my first try at it before the show started that was true to the few images we had at the time. But, it's also been completely nullified by what we see in Season 1. I don't have the time to return to it currently (re-watching every episode for each glimpse of the interior and trying to get it all to work together) and was hoping someone else was going to give it a try.

Hey all!

So this project is still on-going, and the amount of content we're cramming into this is certainly ambitious. (Just to give you an idea, the "outline" document itself is 24 pages alone!)

We're looking for one or two more writers to help fill in a few gaps and wrap things up. The assignments would be pretty specific at this point, but there's certainly still room to add new sections if someone has a good idea and is willing to write it up within a reasonable timeframe. If you're interested, either reply here or shoot me a PM and we'll talk in more detail.

Here's a small teaser: The section on Lothal has nine separate sub-sections describing points of interest and happenings around the city in great detail. ;)

great stuff! :)

Do you all have a projected date for the project roll out?

Do you all have a projected date for the project roll out?

Oh man, I knew this question would come sooner or later, lol.

I would really love to have it out well before season 2 of Rebels begins, but it's hard to commit to that considering we don't know exactly when that is yet.

How about a vague FFG-esque answer of "Q3 2015" ? :)

Continuing the theme of FFG-speak, I'd say it's more "at the printers" than "in development". Mostly content done, now with the fun job of editing, proofing, layout - all that jazz. But rest assured, the bulk is done :)

The BIG question...

All the tease pages I've tried to look at are images. As someone whomrelies on text-to-speech, I can't read these. Will the final be in this format? Would a text-only version be at all a possibility?

Well... It's a big question to me, anyway. :P

It's a fair point Haley, and I can't speak for the whole group. But once it's finished (if the group is amenable) I can certainly provide my stuff as text. The things that are hard are likely to be things like tables (for dice results, with symbols) and stat blocks (as these will be generated with Oggdude's generator and output as images.)

But the text stuff for the section descriptions etc should be doable, and there's a fair amount of that. Does your software read pdf's?

At the end of the day, if people are interested in the work, we should do our best to make it as accessible as possible.

Can't wait for this to be done. I want to see the final book

I definitely appreciate the consideration. :)

I'm hopefully not asking for you to do any extra work. If the pdf pages aren't just images, that'd be good enough for me.

Has there been any consideration on making this into separate books for each season? This way if someone is going for a campaign that coincides with the Rebels series they can have a bit more depth instead of just getting shotgunned in the end.

Considering everything included in the final PDF fancy graphical version starts as text, I don't see any reason not to provide a lightweight text only version. In fact, one of the things I've been considering the past few days was to do something of a "beta" among interested players using a text only version.

We definitely have the multiple seasons in mind, which is why we're trying to make sure the first version is out before season two starts. While I'm not sure we'll go as far as separate books for each season, the plan right now is to make revisions and updates as new information is revealed (especially if it contradicts some of the "artistic license" we've taken so far). The bottom line is that if this is popular and players enjoy it, we absolutely intend to continue with updates in some form as the series continues through additional seasons.

For some totally invalid and bs reason I did not respond to this thread eventhough I have been reading all of it... As someone who was very much, pleasantly surprised with the first season of Rebels this is looking to be a tool I am pretty likely to turn to in the near future! Very impressed with the hard work you are outring in and it seems like it is paying off!
