Spark of Rebellion fan made sourcebook in the making.

By Drathen, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

After a long and painful process of moving...and now being broke...thanks to the wife....I will be back on track with the project. I will be working alot more on the layouts this week and reviewing the submitted material that the team has been working on. In our thread it seems like a few are wanting an June release...and I would like that was well so I will do my best to make that happen. I am an perfectionist in alot of ways and the work I do is a reflection of me and im sure alot of you would say the same about yourselves :) so with that said I would like to have this done around the end of June. So hang in there :)

Closed "beta" for this is now underway. Thanks to those participating. If anybody is really truly interested in helping out with the review and testing of the latest text-only version (the fancy graphical version is still "at the printers"), shoot me a PM and explain why you'd make a good tester. ;)

Really happy to see this project is proceeding. Best of luck to the author(s) and testers!

Yeah it's looking really good now... The crew is really hard at work to bring this great universe to everyone!

It's coming, folks. Definitely "On The Boat" at this point. :)

You and your team are amazing!! Way to go!

This system doesn't need sourcebook like past systems did. They're great and all. but this game is all about narrative, not picayune details.

Looking forward to this. Looks great so far. :)

Possibly true. But considering we're almost done at this point, you're getting it whether needed or not. ;) We hope that players and GMs alike will find at least something useful in the 90+ pages.

Thanks for the support! Getting closer every day. ;)

Thank you for your opinion, however when I first got this project started there were many others that wanted to see this happen and thought it would be a great idea. If you do not want to use it, that is your choice.

Really? Then where are others going to get their campaign ideas from for the narrative setting? The main book gives some stuff and focuses on the Rebellion Era. But what is happening in various sectors of that? Are you saying that isn't of interest to others?

Also not everyone is an author capable of creating whole settings from scratch. I recently set a game on Corellia and Suns of Fortune was invaluable for filling in lots of background and atmospheric details. I'm sure I could have improvised much of it (and did) but having that background ready made as a springboard to imagination is very helpful and time saving.

Of course as others have said you can simply not download it, just as you can choose not to purchase anything FFG puts out. For me personally, the more the merrier! And you can't beat the low, low price of free.

And now that season 2 is started I'm really amped up for this!

And I am already beginning layouts for season 2 :)

Most content from season 2 will prob be posted mid season. Already asked some of the guys if they were still on board to continue and they said yes. As for the main pdf...should be out shortly. Just wrapping a few things up.

so awesome! great work, guys, all thumbs up! :D

If you can't say anything nice about someone else's hard work on a labor of love, then how about not running your mouth?

AHHH! Spoilers on the table of contents! NOOOO!

. . . . oh, wait.

. . . . oh, wait.

Lol, you know, that crossed my mind briefly. Then I thought that anyone that cares about looking at this will have certainly watched all of season one by now, right? ;) If enough people feel differently we can swap in a different image. There is bound to be a spoiler or two in the book itself though.

Yeah this came up early on, but now the S2 trailer is widespread it's not really a secret any more.

As Jaspor says it's hard to completely avoid spoilers ("what do you mean Fyrnocks don't like light?"), but we try not to deliberately point things out. It's going to be interesting how much our view on some of this stuff changes as the seasons progress (ie how much is completely invalidated, heh!). But that's always a risk with something like this, and as it's an electronic document, there's no reason it can't be revised later. Cos Drathen loves that layout work ;)

Joking aside, I wouldn't worry too much about it. If you're nerd enough to seek out a fan made sourcebook, you're probably nerd enough to have finished the first season.

Good work, fellows! Cant wait for the final product.

From the look of things, its almost a wrap :)

I really could not have done this project alone prob would have taken a year lol... Had a few real life events happen and 1 really bad one. All this aside, the team was great and Jaspor and Ash were amazing! Thank you guys very very much for helping getting our baby out there! I look forward to working with you guys again soon (cough season 2 cough)

Soon as this is done...I seem to recall owing a few guys out there some character drawings...yes I have not forgot :)

I've been away from these boards for many months and I just noticed the preview article for this over on D20radios site and when I first looked at the pictures I thought "Wait is this official?"

From what I've read and seen you guys truly have out done yourselves. I can't wait to read this over and see what I can use for my campaign. I'm a novice Galaxy Master (my term for SW GM XD) so more modular encounters will help.

Immensely looking forward to this. :D

I am very happy you enjoy what you have seen so far. If that is the case, you will love when we release the full pdf :) ........soon!
