How evasive can you be?

By Salacious Crumb, in X-Wing

Only yesterday I made an "Artful Dodgers" list, but it could also be "Arty, But Dodgy".

Corran Horn

- Marksmanship

- Experimental Interface

- R2-F2

Keyan Farlander

- Advanced Sensors

- Stay On Target

- B-Wing/E2

- Intelligence Agent

Gemmer Sojan

- Chardaan Refit

They all dodge quite well I think, each in his own way.

PtL or Lone Wolf? PtL lets you take one additional action - barrel roll to arc dodge, or evade for one guaranteed green.

However Lone Wolf gives you a defensive reroll against every attack that comes your way (and an offensive boost which could force people into using their Focus tokens before they attack, potentially making Sensor Jammer so much better)

In a single turn, PtL will give you 5 focused defense dice with R2-F2 and Stealth, or 4 focused defense dice and an evade/barrel roll, which can be arguably better than R2-F2. While LW gives you a reroll, R2-F2 gives you a whole extra die- and PtL can let you focus/evade after that as well.

However, I'm gonna assume the "phantom die" phenomena from LW adds up to about the same consistency as an actual extra die, the dilemma then becomes "do I focus or use R2-F2 to capitalize on LW?" when PtL says "Why not both?" and a huge fiesta busts out in the streets of Mexico celebrating the double-action annoyance of Corran Horn.

In all seriousness, PtL gives you more flexibility and evasiveness with 16 possible action combinations (I think I'm wrong, forgot how to calculate combinations, lol) while Lone Wolf only grants you access to 5 actions and a reroll. A situational reroll, nonetheless.

You could use a lambda/fringer/ORS with tactical jammer.

Then be a big jerk and put biggs behind it.

Contemplated this myself. OK, here we go:

Leebo - Determination, Jan Ors, Tactical Jammer, Heavy Laser Cannon, Outrider

Biggs - R2-F2, Stealth Device

Airen Cracken

I like to call it the "No Friends Left" list.

Echo

Lone wolf, Sensor Jammer, Flight Instructor, Stealth Device.

5 Agility while cloaked, forcing the enemy to change one hit to an eyeball. You get to reroll one blank result and one eyeball result on your evade dice or, if your opponent is PS2 or less, two of your blank evade dice.

Take an evade action and you're going to be really really hard to hit.

Of course you won't have any offense to speak of, but we're not talking about that, are we?

Four dice with a reroll is no offense to speak of?

You have to decloak to make that happen. And without the advanced cloaking device you will not be able to re-cloak in the same turn.
