How evasive can you be?

By Salacious Crumb, in X-Wing

Starting with Corran Horn because he has 3 evade dice and lots of upgrades to take.

Corran Horn (44) E-Wing (35), R2-F2 (3), Push the Limit (3), Experimental Interface (3)

first off R2-F2 allows for an action to increase agility for one round. Putting Corran at 4.

Next use push the limit to take an evade/focus token. And gain 1 stress.

This triggers Experimental interface allowing a card with an action to be used allowing R2-F2 to boost Agility to 5? Then gain a 2nd stress.

This leaves you with a 5 agility ship with 2 stress and an evade/focus. I'm not saying it's a good plan to do this, but is it possible? Is there another way to get more on another ship? People have trouble hitting the phantom with 4 evade.

Thoughts, corrections and other crazy builds welcome.

R2-f2 is an action, and you can't perform the same action twice in a round.

Of course, swap the EI for a stealth device and you are back at 5 with 1 less stress. (A semi-common Biggs loadout, I believe).

Can't use R2-F2 twice in a round, but otherwise seems legal.

Laetin A'shera with Stealth Device, supported by Guri with Bodyguard? Free evades all the way down, 5 Agility (note that Bodyguard is until end of round , not end of combat, so it works vs Corran as well).

Bodyguard's useless there, only works on another higher-PS pilot.

Depends. Why do you want to know?

Thanks for the multiple, "you can't take a double action replies" I always think that a free action doesn't count for that for some reason.

I do really like the stealth device plan.

Corran, R2-F2 + stealth gives a solid 5 evade with no stress for 41 pts. Not bad. Now if I could just find a Firespray I'd have a stealth device. But then I'd be tempted to paint it and run Kath.

I can't comment on the scum builds yet. Don't know what they all do.

@tophatgorilla - Was just wondering how defensive a ship can get and if someone could be more defensive than a phantom as a single ship.

Can now get Stealth Device with the Scyk, by the way.

While that is more dice, I can't help but think Soontir Fel + Push the Limit + Stealth Device + Autothrusters is actually more evasive. Not much of a crazy build, though. This one will probably become all too familiar in the coming months as it should be!

Easy fix, swap Bodyguard and Wingman.

the answer is, of course, "as evasive as the dice want you to be"

the agility cap seems to be five, however (R2-F2 + stealth, phantom cloak + stealth, scum 3 agility + stealth + bodyguard)

You can also throw in cards like elusiveness, sensor jamer, lone wolf or flight instructor to boost evasiveness aside from higher agility.

Wait, couldn't we add Body Guard to the Corran build that Salacious Crumb posted?

Corran Horn (3) + Stealth Device (1) + R2-F2 (1) + Jek Porkins using Body Guard (1)=6 agility dice. You could give Corran Push the Limit for Focus and Evade to make those dice count.

Scum only.

Hm. Embarrassing, but at least I know now. Man. One more card from this expansion pack that I'll never use.

3 agility base, +1 for ability and +1 for stealth device unless i'm missing something

you can get 6 dice if you're shot at from range 3 while having an enemy at range 1, but technically that's just adding a die not increasing your agility

Evade action effectively counts as 1 AGI?

Why do you want to know?

You have no right to ask that question!

Where is your proof?

Is that evasive enough for you? :D

As for number of dice you can toss the cap is 7, which you can reach by various means. All include Range 3 through asteroid, the ships that can reach that number is:

Cloaked Phantom with SD

E-wing with R2-F2 and SD

3 agi Scum with SD and Bodyguard

Gemmer with SD and in Range 1 of another enemy ship

If you wish to be even more annoying you can add Sensor Jammer on the ships that can take System Upgrades.

Corran, Lone Wolf, R2-F2, Sensor Jammer, Stealth Device.

Better or worse than

Corran, PtL, R2-D2, Advanced Sensors, Shield Upgrade

PtL or Lone Wolf? PtL lets you take one additional action - barrel roll to arc dodge, or evade for one guaranteed green.

However Lone Wolf gives you a defensive reroll against every attack that comes your way (and an offensive boost which could force people into using their Focus tokens before they attack, potentially making Sensor Jammer so much better)
