Star Wars Rebels

By Kyla, in X-Wing Off-Topic

The term Jedi may indeed be referring to the official title.

There's a movie on the FB page for Rebels and in it Dave Filoni says that Ahoska isn't a Jedi, he talks about her blades being white because she's no longer a Jedi, but she's also not evil.

So clearly they're making room for non-Jedi force users. You could argue that Kanan and Ezra are both in that same category. It hasn't been said one way or another that I know of, but it's sorta hinted at that Kanan hasn't finished his trials yet. So he's not a full fledged Jedi, the Inquisidor asked him about his masters last command when Order 66 was issued. Made it sound like maybe he was still a Padawan.

Exactly, being force sensitive does not mean you're a Jedi or a Sith. I'm sure the Inquisitor had posters of Darth Vader hanging on his wall, but he could never become a Sith lord.

I loved that episode but...

... I guess standard TIE /LN's have onboard life support now?

And the Inquisitor's TIE as well.

So what do you think....Sabine's "Masterpiece" and the Inquisitor's TIE in a box set for the game?

C'mon, you know you want one. :)

After seeing this, I thought Folcrum was just a regular Jawa.

I haven't seen the episode, but I'm assuming Sabine was flying it? Helmet yo.

Fulcrum is actually Moon Knight.

Nope, at at one point 3 of them are in 1 (hilariously painted ANDIWANTONE) TIE flying, dodging fire from 15 ties while, completely lifesupportless without wearing helmets.

Since the rule with legends canon is that it's canon unless disproved by newcanon source. TIE's now have integral life support as standard.

I would say that since they've had the TIE for a while, Sabine and Co. modified it off-camera with more than just a fresh coat of paint. And since the Inquisitor's TIE is an Advanced prototype, why not include life-support, especially if they were going to include/planning to include a hyperdrive unit?

You'd have to assume each TIE has a tank or two in the cockpit which could hook up to the helmet - to be more efficient. If you hook an oxygen tank up to a helmet you are only dispensing a tiny bit of oxygen directly to your face, and you are probably also being very safe, since additional oxygen in the cockpit coudl fuel a console fire if it were to break out.

But having the oxygen tank turned on and shooting oxygen directly into the cabin, while viable, is less efficient and probably more dangerous, considering fires and such.

They are both possibilities, I totally agree in the case of the advanced. It's a bit of a stretch for an art project designed to just EMP everything to be outfitted with life support.

More likely it had enough oxy to survive the 10 minutes.

True. This is what happened, in real life, on January 27, 1967 when a fire in Apollo 1's capsule killed the 3 astronauts inside.

I'm surprised you guys aren't complaining about how easy it was to just walk aboard a Gozanti, take it over, and fly it away without getting shot down. I mean the Imperials on Lothal must be the most inept people in the Outer Rim. That TIE also, should have been squawking an appropriate track number - and the Imperials shoudl have identified it by it's number as a missing TIE, long before it got close to the Star Destroyer. But that part I suppose Sabine coudl have rigged it to emit a false identification.

Either way, nobody shoudl be able to steal a Gozanti just by walking aboard and taking it. I suspect those Stormtroopers on the ground were traitors. Imagine if we had 3 people just up and steal a battleship from our Navy?

Backwater outer rim planet, no need to do any real military exercise with no threats.

Naw they just got sloppy.

This said, if I may make an observation:

Stormtroopers are AMAZING at assault, and when they are storming.

Garrison and Defense they are useless. This holds true in just about every media ever for them.

I think Sabine's short established that those at that particular landing pad are incompetent.

Yeah you don't put crack troops on a backwater like Lothal, besides it's well established that Stormtroopers can't hit the broad side of bantha, it takes something the size of a sandcrawler... At least when the heroes are involved.

I mean how many truly competent Stormtroopers do you see in the movies?

They're prone to Jedi Mind tricks. If a door is locked, they apparently assume the place is empty. It takes about 25 of them to be a threat to Han Solo. They can't hit a human sized target in a hallway. Their armor is not much good when dealing with kinetic force (they get KO'ed when they walk aboard the Falcon). They can't hit Luke when he's just standing there, even though 20 of them are shooting at him.

And that's just the first movie. :)

"only Imperial Stormtroopers are so precise".

One more reason Episode 4 was awful.

That's the thing with the movies though. The stormtroopers suffer from epic level inverse ninja syndrome. In the EU they are elite of the elite badass troops, and again - when on the offensive they always win in the movies (Tantive IV, Hoth).

Put them against major characters and boy do they suck.

In D20 i even made a house rule to support this, where player characters may NOT be critted by mooktroopers. (To be fair, I did this based on the original SWD20 from the early 2000s which had this rule).

When you think about it, how often in the movies do we see the stormtroopers firing at anyone who isn't Force-sensitive in some way? The only one that comes to mind is the initial boarding of the Tantive IV, and they were pretty effective there. All other times, they're firing at someone or a group containing someone who is Force-sensitive enough to possibly sub-consciously alter their aim just enough to miss them. Even Vader had a hard time getting a bead on Luke in the Death Star trench.

Edit: And maybe the Ewoks, but the Ewoks were being dispatched pretty handily, too. They just had the assistance of another Force-sensitive to turn the tide against the Empire.

Well, there's a reason the first thing Kenobi did on that crime scene was burn evidence.

I'm looking forward to episode 13 hitting Google Play... Any freaking time now! :(

Having not yet seen the episode, I can't comment about the events of that episode, but I will say that it's shockingly easy to sneak into a secure installation. Like: really easy. Source: I've had an interesting life.

There's a reason Vader cautions Fett against disintegrations in ESB.

Chewie isn't force sensitive as far as I know, neither is Han. It's at best speculated in Legends he might be a minor force-sensitive, but that is not canon or even really confirmed even in Legends.

I thought that Han was force sensitive, just not force aware.
