Trueshot - Large Monster - Pit

By Straangeer, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

Guys i have a situation which is the following:

My Barghest has been shot with the "TRUESHOT" relics weapon

and one of this weapon triggerable ability is the following: "Move the target one space"

So the hero can move my barghest one space away and in this case he can move my barghest into pit and expand it which cause that both of his space is in a pit space.

But the FAQ 1.5 errata says the following:

"Large monster suffer the effects of entering and being in a pit space only if their movement ends or is interrupted so that each space they occupy is a pit space"

So as i interpret it: Barghest doesn't fall into the pit

-The barghest movement action was ended in a different space in the Overlord turn.

-But one hero could move him into the pit spaces but it was not a wanted movement from the Overlord perspective.

Question: Is my poor barghest fall into the pit or not?

Thank you for your answers.

Yes he is in the pit, and suffers the consequences, assuming that the use of Trueshot has moved the Barghest completely into the pit.

Since the Barghest is a 1x2 creature, I am assuming the pit is at least 1x2, and the Barghest is fully in the pit.

Edit: And just to be clear, it doesn't matter that you (the OL) moved the monster into the pit, or a hero with a weapon, ability, etc. moved the monster into the pit. The same would apply if you as the OL had an ability (such as knockback) and moved a hero into the pit.

Note that movement is not the same as movement action.

Note that movement is not the same as movement action.

Indeed.

Every time the Barghest moves, when it stops, it has "ended its movement" wherever it is now. Regardless of whether or not it's the OL's turn, or what effect was making it move. So yes, the Barghest falls into the pit immediately.

Compare and contrast this to the rules for Lava, which say a figure is defeated upon ending their turn in a Lava space. If a figure is forced to move into Lava, he doesn't get defeated until his next turn comes and goes, assuming he's still on the Lava at that time. However, this is because it triggers at "end of turn," not "end of movement."
