Auto Blasters

Autoblaster

The defender cannot cancel results with evade tokens or other added results, such as from C-3PO,when attacked with Autoblaster

NOW, say I roll two crits with autoblaster. Can the defender roll dice to evade them? This came up last night. We thought since it was 2 crits you could roll dice. Or is it that you can use evade tokens to cancel crits.

When I attack with an Autoblaster, my opponent cannot cancel my [hit] results. He or she can cancel my [crit] results, so your opponent should definitely go ahead and roll.

When canceling an Autoblaster attack, you basically skip over the [hit] results - nothing can cancel them. Then you roll and spend tokens and do everything else like normal to try to cancel [crit] results - they're not affected by Autoblasters. Finally, resolve damage in the usual order - [hits] first, then [crits].

Also you have to roll defense dice even if it won't accomplish anything.

This pretty much sums it.

Autoblaster doesn't prevent you from rolling dice. It prevents those dice from working (at least for hit results).

Imagine an ability like: "When defending, if you roll 3 or more evade results, you may cancel all dice results.

If you aren't allowed to roll defense dice (for whatever reason), that ability couldn't work.

But if you are allowed to roll defense dice (by default you always are), that ability could cancel all damage, even from an autoblaster.

Also you have to roll defense dice even if it won't accomplish anything.

Who doesn't like rolling dice just for fun? :D
