Ship on p. 29 of Edge of the Empire?

By patox, in X-Wing

Does anyone know what ship this is?

How much of that is ship and how much is background element?

I'm not sure but it looks similar to the Pulsar Skate right?

Nah, that (ugh) version of the Skate has a much less fighter-like main body.

Sith Infiltrator and K-wing had a baby.

Here's a clearer version:

Artist is Ben Zweifel, but his Wookieepedia category doesn't have the image and his site doesn't have a name for it. Lots of art that shows up in X-wing, though.

Of particular note is this Gozanti art, which I can't recall seeing anywhere.

(now to watch the forum frenzy claiming this is confirmation for the second Imp Huge)

Interesting, another appearance of the TIE Hunter. Also two HLAF-500 images. Would Rebels start getting CorSec stuff due to lack of viable ships, or is it just a red herring?

looks like a Colonial viper on steroids.. but cant tell if the wing thing is part of it or part of the background structure as was previously mentioned.

I don't think it's background structure. It looks to me more like another ship.

Nebulon Ranger

The extra armament is a give away it's not a stock Crescent-X9

which don't have the proton torpedo launchers.

It's a Krasten Shipyards Crescent-X9.

Uh... It looks like you're right, but what's a 4,000-year-old ship doing in Edge of Empire?

Getting repaired, looks like. ^_^

Talk about horrible visibility with that huge blind spot. It's like driving a FJ cruiser.

It's one of those Star Wars EU "let's throw weapons on weapons and then make it bigger and weirder just so we have something new in this book/comic" things.

They must have the same designers as the GI Joe toys.

Age of Rebellion Core Rulebook.

Or a Tie Fighter...

Star Wars sure does love its blind spots.

It's space, you'll be using instruments to find and fix targets. Not your eyes.

Luke: "My scopes negative, I don't see anything"

Red Leader: "Pick up your visual scanning"

How did you know about this?

Did it take some digging or is this a common old republic ship?

The Nebulon Ranger was the ship of the Qel-Droma family, who were pretty prominent characters during the Old Republic time period.

Well this is near the top of the list of ugliest star wars ships.

It would be pretty cool if not for that horrible extra-large starboard wing. Ugh!

#1 in on my list goes to this:

The ship has massive importance in the later books, and had massive ugliness going on.
