Crate of Krayts?

By Admiral Terghon, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Anyone know a reasonable source to find the beta adventure? eBay has the EotE Beta book going for around $40USD and that's pretty nuts. I've heard the adventure is really good and I'd like to have it for my group, but I'm not paying $40 for it. Anyone know of another source with a more reasonable price?

Checking around at usual places: CoolStuffInc, NobleKnight, Miniature Market, Amazon, and The War Store, cheapest is Noble Knight at $35 before shipping. You MIGHT have some luck at a local game shop or even certain used bookstores. But if you're not pressed for time, you can wait until a store does a sale for it to drop down. Otherwise, unless somebody on here is willing to sell theirs, you might have to just get it for $40.

Sheesh? 40? There was a time where sellers couldn't give them away! If you were paying 20 bucks, you were being robbed!

Now, the smart thing for FFG to do? Once F&D drops - tweak the text to reflect any beta changes and release all three in one brand-new compilation. The hard work - the writing - is already done. All they'd have to do is typset and print and boom! Free money!

Unlikely to ever happen since they technically sold the adventure was in a book they sold (even an out-dated one), and we all know where they sit on providing even free pdfs on that front.

It’s not like FFG really has a choice. They are extremely limited by their license they have from Disney/Lucasfilm.

If they are going to be doing tie-ins with Rebels, I’m hoping that they get a much improved license that allows them to make more content available in electronic form.

But we won’t know until it happens, or at least until they make an official announcement.

Not true; an adventure from Suns of Fortune was released in an article for the book by FFG. That means that they can technically release data that is available in a payed-for product.

But hey, maybe I'm wrong. I wouldn't count on it coming out on a PDF any time soon, save through illicit sources (which, of course, is out of the question).

If it were archived material, long out of print, I might consider illicit sources. But I'd far rather create demand for them to publish it legitimately.

Oh well, just discovered a cache of some excellent fan adventures. These will keep me going for a while. :)

My supply of WEG books just showed up. I haven’t finished reading even the first one, but these do seem to be a goldmine for ideas.

Or at least a silvermine, if not a goldmine. ;)
