I'd love to see these in game. Or at least a playable card to enable them.
However the mechanics for them being deployed are figured out they could have a few different effects.
1.If deployed to an Epic ship they would start taking down systems. Maybe have a DoT (damage over time) effect. Where every 3(?) turns they damage or disable a system. It could be based on a die roll or some such.
Rebels could also have a way to deploy counter troops or even fire on their own ship to take out the Spacetroopers.
2. If deployed to a Large ship they could have the same DoT effect or they could board the ship. The pilot would have to fend them off. His attack/defense would be based on his pilot skill. While the pilot was battling them the ship would essentially be disabled.
3. Possibly, depending on balance issues, if the pilot was killed the Spacetroopers could assume control of the Large ship; the Imperial player would control it for the rest of the game. It would have to have a penalty, maybe hull damage since the Spacetroopers would have had to tear holes in it to board. They would have a very low pilot skill too.
The Rebels version would be suicide bombers. Because, of course, they are terrorists after all. ![]()
