I realize that the Outrider was created for a video game, rather than for the films... but if you're like me, the ginormous cannons on the stock YT-2400 are beyond stupid--especially in comparison to the turrets on the Falcon & Decimator. In my opinion, the cannons (and those thick, curved hull edges) make the ship feel more like a toy than a movie model... or at least, a small based ship blown up to large scale.

Here's my ultra-fast solution:

As you can see, some quick work with some clippers and you're 90% there. A couple quick divots with a pointed object and some black wash, and the cannons--while still a lot bulkier than the turrets on other ships--are a lot more plausible as HLC's.

In any case, I like 'em a lot better this way.

Well, I did shave the clipped edges with an x-acto to even 'em out. That, and a bit of black wash is all you need.

Looks really good. I would have just swaped guns with the Falcon, but this does look far more to scale.

Good job, I did not agree with your words until I looked at the picture, I agree it does look like a more realistic scale than the video game ship was designed to look, the cannons should be at least close to the size of the falcon.

Hmm, I may not take off as much of the cannons, but I may do something similar. Maybe I'll cut at an angle. Ideas.

I don't mind the big guns. I assume they're representative of the HLC.

Just like the little gun behind the shuttle are apparently supposed to be the APL.

I am doing this too. I will keep one to be the actual Outrider, but the others will be regular 2400's. The description on the package even says that regular 2400's have blaster turrets.

Easy and yet very effective. I'll probably end up doing something similar when I find the time to repaint my Outrider/YT-2400.
