Scum Triple Seven list

By Magnus Grendel, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Might work, might not. PS7 isn't bad but not great.

Only three ships, but two are reasonably tough and have plenty of firepower - albeit that they're **** slow.

N'Dru Suhlak - 24 points

- Lone Wolf

- Proton Rockets

- Dead Man's Switch

Kavil - 38 points

- Blaster Turret
- R4 Agromech
- Opportunist
- Shield Upgrade

Dace Bonearm - 38 points
- K4 Security Droid
- Ion Cannon Turret
- Shield Upgrade
- Moldy Crow

Kavil and Dace fly a slow, oblique approach - building up one or two focus tokens. Dace shoots first, hoping to ionise and double-damage a target - or forcing them to spend any defensive tokens, so Kavil can smack them in the face with a 5-dice, target locked attack.

N'Dru goes sailing in to get a Proton Rocket shot, stay out of range of other ships and hopefully trade fire before ejecting and blowing up in someone's face....

Moldy Crow is probably not great value - it's more because I have 3 points left, and at PS7 with turrets I'm not too bothered about an initiative bid. If someone can suggest an elite pilot talent which would help more, I'd be all over it.

I've been calling this one "Lucky Sevens" and I have a couple variations now.

Kavil (24)
+ Blaster Turret (4)
+ Hull Upgrade (3)
+ R4 Aggromech (2)
+ Determination (1)
Dace Bonearm (23)
+ Ion Cannon Turret (5)
+ Shield Upgrade (4)
+ Deadman's Switch (2)
+ Determination (1)
+ Greedo (1)
N'Dru Suhlak (17)
+ Cluster Missiles (4)
+ "Hot Shot" Blaster (3)
+ Hull Upgrade (3)
+ Lone Wolf (2)
N'Dru is much more of a threat and not quite as fragile. I do like the K4 Security Droid on Dace, though, so maybe swap Greedo/Determination for K4 (the list is 99 points). In fact, K4 is in the other version...
Kath Scarlett (38)
+ Engine Upgrade (4)
+ K4 Security Droid (3)
+ Push the Limit (3)
Dace Bonearm (23)
+ Ion Cannon Turret (5)
+ Determination (1)
+ Greedo (1)
N'Dru Suhlak (17)
+ "Hot Shot" Blaster (3)
+ Lone Wolf (2)
Kath is a much beefier threat, and uses her upgrades for action efficiency and to keep enemies behind her. You could make the same change as above to Dace by also downgrading N'Dru's HSB to Deadman's Switch.
I'm really looking forward to flying both of these as soon as I get Scum.

N'Dru Suhlak - 24 points

- Lone Wolf

- Proton Rockets

- Dead Man's Switch

Kavil - 38 points

- Blaster Turret

- R4 Agromech

- Opportunist

- Shield Upgrade

Dace Bonearm - 38 points

- K4 Security Droid

- Ion Cannon Turret

- Shield Upgrade

- Moldy Crow

I'd consider dropping Suhlak's illicit upgrade and going with Clusters instead of Protons. Same amount of red dice. Slightly less total offense, since you could use the Focus on the first Proton shot. But you can let loose at range 2. I see two advantages for that -- the obvious one is that you're more likely to get the ordnance off before you die. The less obvious one is that range 2 might let you keep more distance from your allies, ensuring your loner bonuses (lonuses?) aren't compromised.

Cluster missiles might be a good call. I don't know if ordnance and a hot-shot are a good call - I don't expect Suhlak to live very long, so two one-shot weapons might well be a waste.

The hotshot is arguably better - since he can flank and still shoot, and if he's holding the range open the deadman switch becomes less useful.
