Order of Kellos Expansion Complete

By Acolyte Rivan, in Descent Home Brews

Some minor modifications were made:

Copper Items: "Amulet of Kellos" cost reduced to 1 fatigue.

Dungeons & Rumor: changed a typo in "The Cistern" card

Skills: "Warded", the mechanics of adding the effect token changed. Limited duration of ward.

To anyone else who may have downloaded files already, I'm planning on setting up a FAQ file as well. The actual rules (with quest guide) hopefully will be done completely by the weekend.

Sweet - Looking forward to seeing the quest guide and the FAQ!

Downloading the files as we speak!

More changes before the rules upload. I apologize to those people who may have downloaded these files already:

Incidents & Locations: "The Touch of Death" incident - Vaettir's ability changed to reflect surges, not blanks.

Silver Items: "Flame of Sanctity" area of effect increased 1 space

Heroes & Avatar: The cost to use Priest Morgan's ability has been reduced to one fatigue.

Again, my apologies. I was excited to post these and jumped the gun before final edits. If you have any questions, a FAQ is in the works.

Finally, the Rules and Quest Guide (28.9 mb): www.fileden.com/files/620/The%20Order%20of%20Kellos/DOOK%20Rules.pdf

Are all the links above corrected files?

Or will those links come later?

Also - have you found any product in particular that is good to print on? Something that would get closest to the thickness of the actual cards? I am just going to look for a thinner cardstock if there isn't anything in particular - but I thought I would ask if you found anything in your playtesting that might work best.

As long as you "Ctrl-refresh" the link, you will get the new card when you follow the same links. As for printing out the files, my printer takes cardstock which is about one-half the required thickness to be the same as the actual card. Other printers may vary, but all of my cards are sleeved anyway so it doesn't make that much of a difference (for me).

Another printing option that produces close to production value cards is to buy some cheap decks of playing cards. Buy full page labels or there is a specific Avery label which I believe is the same size as a playing card. Print everything out, adhere to the playing cards on both sides. You might need to then cut down to size, but they should be the same thickness and "feel" as the cards that come with the game.

I was considering contacting a local printer to see if they had a good heavy photo paper or something like that. The result would beat labels, save time, and with the ink savings probably be cheap as well.

Just to let people know, for the file sharing site I have a 5.0 GB bandwith limit for the month. Right now it is at 3.2 GB.

Still working on a FAQ too, feel free to post your questions here or e-mail them to me at mail .

The rules file seems to be damaged. My PDF reader cannot read it. Could you check it please? Thankyou.

Has anyone else had problems downloading or reading the files? If so, e-mail me and I can send you the files directly (if you'd like). Plus , it would save on my bandwith limit.

No troubles here - feel free to PM me if you have bandwidth problems - I have plenty on a site I host.

There was bound to be an error that nobody caught. Under the Summary of Special Abilities section for Drain, it lists total number of "blanks" rolled to determine what, if anything, gets drained, it should be "surges". It has been corrected.

And now, the FAQ. Thanks to everyone's interest, the bandwith is at 4.3 GB of 5.0 GB limit for the month. happy.gif If you can't download a file let me know.

FAQ

My bandwidth limit has been reached on the first site. If you need the files, I'd suggest using the other links.

My bandwith limit has been reset, so now there are two sites available to download the files from. Also, the links from my website for templates and other files are active again as well.

For those European fans who may have issues printing out the cards (since everything I did was for 8.5x11 inch paper), Parthion has come up with these printing instructions:

"In the printing configuration, go to "Effects" (third tab, where you can select paper size, save configs, etc.), select "Print Document on A4" (most European PCs will have that as default) and deselect the single checkbox under the A4 selector called "fit to size" (or however it is called in English).

Then you can print the cards as you suggested as 2x4 pages with exact matches back to front (2x2 didn´t work in that respect).

As for the token sheets, I´m not sure if it works the same way as above. I used (in the same printer menu) the option "% of normal size" and selected 108%, which gave exactly 25mm counters on A4 paper.

Avatar sheets worked normally, no changes needed."

Thanks Parathion.

This is really neat. You clearly put a lot of effort into it. Well done.
