But...but I wanna open them...That's the best part of new stuff...
I'm 3 hours away from fininshing a 14-hour shift and youtube is blocked on my work internets. Can you tell me if there are any new upgrades that weren't previously revealed?
Thanks for this!

If you've been following the spoilers religiously, no, there's nothing new.
Nice reviews, but I guess it didn't cross your mind that the "bad painting" on the Star Viper's wings is intentional...
This is awesome and thank you... but I have to say (since everything else is spoiled) the only thing I was looking for seeing was the back of the card for the Scum pilots.... not a glimpse in the 4 videos ![]()

It did cross my mind, in fact the preview from GenCon showed the same painting, so I know it isn't an accident. What I can't figure out, is "why?".

Wow! I didn't look at them not once! And it's late and I'm about to go to bed, but I'll be sure and check tomorrow lol!
And thanks for watching my videos guys and all your kind words and support. I just hit 1,000 subscribers! I'm gonna get some Ice Cream tomorrow!

It's precisely the same as this, right?

I feel like the black/white worn effect should have been inverted, since the eye has a tendency to see bright colours as layered over dark ones, so it doesn't properly convey the worn edges of the panels.
Just running a little black paint around the edges of those panels to "un-wear" them would probably fix things, although it doesn't bug me /that/ much personally (but then I'm used to dealing with odd shading which you may not be?).
Great series - nice to see the Spicer Runner and I agree - the Viper paint job is underwhelming. It has volunteered itself to be my first lab rat for honing my paint skills. Now - what to do? I think a minimalist trim with a bright colour perhaps.

You could try a light color with a black wash, and then a few touche-ups near the cockpit.
Ah... I haven't really seen that Star Viper up close.
I can't wait until I have my hands on that simply just to repaint... Before I wasn't even sure I wanted to get Scum packs right off the bat.
Thanks for the Vids, I'm at work... long hours to go. I'm glad to see one of them was almost 30 minutes!
edit: The black weatheing on that Viper are odd... for sure. It appears as if the ship was originally black, and is having 'white' weathering streak effects. Like it's reversed of how my brain is wanting to see it.

I have to say, now that you point this out I agree 100% with inverting the black and white lol.
Concerning the Star Viper Video....
It's got to be Segnor: 'Sehg-Nohr' ... right ? I can't wrap my head around there being another way to pronounce that.

I could be wrong, but I don't think Genius works with proximity mines.

Nice catch. I suppose I had a brain fart there. Maybe someday there will be a new type of proximity-ish mine that lays down before you move.

Opening is the best part! I don't even like to play with them ![]()
I'm pretty sure that the 'weathering' effect is supposed to be more of a wear and tear type effect. The panels were painted black, and use over the months has scraped and worn away at the black paint at the panel edges. It's a fairly standard model painting technique to make minis look more realistic. Actual military and industrial equipment has this sort of wear all the time.
It's not black charring on white paint, it's black paint that has been worn away at the edges. Looks OK, if not great from a ll the previews I've seen
One thought with Calculation...
you can use the focus AND Calculation on the same turn. So take your scenario where you roll 3 eyeballs. You can turn 1 to a crit with calculation then all the rest to regular hits with your focus.

One of the first builds I want to try is (Imperial) Kath with Calc and Rec Spec (probably with Fel and a Doomshuttle).

I agree - that's going to be pretty good. Calculation, at 1 point, offers a lot more flexibility when paired with Rec Spec.

Also realized something else when I watched a Batrep I found today. If you have multiple focus tokens, you can use it to convert multiple crits. I realized the focus and crit when I first saw it, but I didn't consider using it more than once on the same roll. Unless this is FAQ'ed out, I'd say the "Once per opportunity" rule applies once per die, not once per attack.
Anyway, it now seems a lot more attractive to me after seeing its versatility.

I do believe the card will only be able to trigger once per attack. I like your way better, though.

By that precedent, you can only spend one token of each type per attack, including defense, meaning you can't spend multiple evade tokens on the same defense roll. But, currently, you can.
Let's say Kath has Calculation and Rec Spec - she fires Range 1 from behind - 5 dice.
She has 2 focus from Rec Spec.
If she rolls 1 focus - you use Calculation.
if she rolls 2+ focus - you can decide: do I use 1 for calculation and 1 for turning the remaining eyes into hits, or do I save the 2nd focus for defense.
It is situational but there are absolutely times you'll want to use both tokens on the attack to maximize your damage but also get the benefit of a crit.
