So one of the big supposed draws of S&V was the ability to re-purpose some existing ships to scum. Am I right in assuming that right now that means buying another copy of S&V per refit? Hell, that means my existing z-95 and y-wing models are useless with S&V. Would be nice to be able to obtain refit kits of some kind. I don't need 8-10 z95's
An expansion per scum refit?
Not Everyone out there has them? Sell a few bits here or there?
Another option
Modding ships up
You now have plenty of spare parts.

They were really discussing the HWK and Firespray with regard to re-purposing. That being said you do get an extra Scum Y-wing dial to allow you to use an extra Y-wing per Most Wanted you buy. Unfortunately as it stands Z-95's don't get this benefit. I won't say that I will be please to have 7-8 Z-95's that I can't all use together, but oh well.
Most Wanted comes with an extra Y-wing dial, so you can repurpose 1 Y, 1 HWK, and 1 Firespray. There's really not much to complain about there, if you already have those three ships (and most players do), it's easily the best ship to dollar cost since the Core kit.
I really don't get the issue people have with the Z95s. If MW used Cloakshape Fighters, with the same stats as Scum's filler ships, there'd be no complaints. Just treat it as that, it's a different filler ship for a different faction, but it just happens to look and fly exactly like an existing rebel ship.

Didn't know about the Y-wing, that does make me happier. I'm assuming it also comes with enough base inserts to use it.
I wonder though, if further reprints of the separate expansions will contain all they need for both factions.

Yes it comes with the ship tokens, ship cards and dials you need for six ships.

I think it's just the fact that those players already have 3 or more Z95 models on the Rebel side, and they're both exclusive with each other.
If Most Wanted had retailed for $35, and had everything it does not but with only one scum Z-95 model (still two dials, so you could mix the Rebel and Scum versions), you'd probably see fewer complaints about it.
As it is: the Z95 is really going to be the make-or-break ship for that faction. 12 points with an Illicit slot is just so dirty.

Yep.
Looking at the promo image, you can see 3 Y-Wing base chits.
That's 1 side for each of the 2 named pilots, and 2 sides for each of the generics, so 6 sides total which is 3 chits!
I'm assuming one chit will have Kavil + Hired Gun, one will have Drea + Syndicate Thug and the last will be Hired Gun + Syndicate Thug.

It's an expansion per scum ship refit of the Firespray/Hwk/Y-wing, in addition to the 2 Zs and the Y-wing you get included
So, if you're a complete nutter, you're going to need a maximum of four to play a full illicit swarm or two to roll with four Ys
Two's a good number of Most Wanted, since I highly doubt you're going to be able to run 3 firesprays (minimum cost: 35) or want to run 3 HWKs (possible but silly) and four Zs is a very respectable amount for a potent mini-swarm.

I'm seriously starting to wish they hadn't done the Most Wanted set and were just going to release "Scum z-95", "Scum Firespray", "Scum HWK" packs.
I honestly think that would have cut down on the complaining if everything were separated, even if you had to spend an extra $65.

I kinda assume that sooner or later we will get separate expansion packs for the 4 scum ships in Most Wanted. I think it highly unlikely they will combine components for 2 different factions into a single pack, just like it is unlikely we will see an aces pack that includes 1 Rebel and 1 Imperial ship.
Personally I don't see how it was a good plan to put two Z-95's in the most wanted pack.
Sure it's a great deal but now most of us will have an excess of them.
I guess it was just that had already decided on the amount of cardboard they were going to include so the box would be a certain size so may as well through in another ship.
Sure that ship could have been a syck but that means more cardboard and cards and most importantly would reduce the amount of preorders by 1-2 blister packs per-person

Should have been a HWK in Dace's green-ish colours.

Well, I'm glad I don't have to buy more Firesprays or HWKs. I think all the complaining would've been averted if FFG had included 1-2 extra Z95 dials. That's like one more piece of cardboard.
Really this all comes down too is a dumb ruling about no cross faction dials.
For me I'll just continue to paint mine as I have from the first wave.
All my dials(well most) have been painted to match the individual ship ie green markings on the dial to match the green markings on the ship
Yeah, the worst part of a whole 3rd faction with re purposed ships is the dials. I have 5 Z -95's at the moment, but can only use the 2 in Most-Wanted because I need Scum dials. This just seems like a money grab. And while I appreciate that they included a Hawk and Firespray dial, what they SHOULD do is just either
A - allow us to use the respective dials from our original ships, or
B - they could have just printed the upper portion of the dial, so we could swap uppers with our original dials. I personally will likely never fly more than 1 HWK, but definitely more than 2 Z -95's and likely 2 Firesprays.
If it's that big a deal, feel free to give a Z-95 model to a friend, and tell yourself it just came with one of each (and bonus dials!).
Seriously, people, we're back to (a) this same old complaint we've seen in a half-dozen threads already, but also (b) now complaining because we get two Z's in there?!
As someone who skipped wave 4, I'm thrilled to be getting 2 Black Sun-painted Z-95s in my Most Wanted set. Wouldn't have it any other way.

I'm not complaining because I'm getting 2 Z -95's. I'm complaining because I can't use the 5 I already have. The solution is simply to allow everyone to use their existing dials for the ships they already have. Why jack up the price by printing extra dials for the Firespray, Hwk and an extra Y-Wing when you should already have dials for the ships you own. If most wanted comes with 3 ships, it should come with only 3 dials. The Hwk and Firespray add ins should be base inserts and Pilot cards only, and we should be able to use our existing dials. Simple as that.
Restricting dials to specific factions severely limits all of us, and I really think it is a poor showing for FFG. It makes them look greedy. We've already bought the ships, we should be able to use them.
I get the idea about not using third party dials, and no one here is suggesting that. And I'm not talking about using a dial that isn't meant for the ship it was designed for. If for some reason, the Scum dials were completely different from their Rebel and Imperial counterparts, I could forgive this. But as far as I know, the maneuvers are exactly the same.

They cant please everybody man...God forbid we get MORE ships PLUS cards that are backwards compatable with ships we already have!!! And we dont even have to rebuy the firespray and hwk!!

It looks like you are complaining that they:
A. Included more than you wanted...which makes no sense...
B. They didnt include the mix you wanted...this makes more sense but is irrelvant.
C. Wont let you use rebel dials on a scum ship in an official event...which makes perfect sense from their perspecitve.
My response to most of your post can really be put into 1 sentence...
They are a business and the main objective of a business is to make money!
And now for the detailed explanation:
What they did here is not a poor showing at all. A poor showing would be making all of us buy new hwks and firesprays in order to use them in this new faction. Releasing separate blisters for each ship that ALL of us would have to rebuy would be seen as greedy. Instead, for a reasonable price, they have included 3 (yes 3!!!) ships in a box which has never been done before AND gave you the ability to repurpose 2(yes 2!!!) ships most of us probably already own...all for what $35? 5x new ships for $35!!! AND PEOPLE ARE COMPLAINING?!?!?!? (not sure on the pricing...this new faction is of no interest to me.) This actually seems like a killer deal and they put alot more in the box than I would have if I were in charge...I would milk people with your line of thinking for all I could.
Of course, for an official event, they want you to have invested as much as possible...why would they deny themselves future sales of scum ships by simply allowing you to repurpose an entire fleet when they could get you to buy new ones? Instead they allowed us to repurpose some of our ships...They even included and EXTRA dial for the Y wing so you could use 2x (if i read a post above correctly.)!! Sounds like a sound business decision/reward to invested players to me.
In a casual game (lets face it...this is the vast majority of the games played) it doesnt matter...i believe this has been said several times. But if you want to play in an official event you need to have all the proper gear...
And before someone claims this:
"But I am new and I dont want to have to buy and Imperial ship so I can use my firespray cards!"
And how is packaging the firespray in a standalone scum box any different? You are buying the same ship...those of us who have already invested get to use it too! And we dont have to buy a ship we already have!!! FFG could have made a boatload by forcing us all to buy a 2nd (or 3rd or 4th or 5th) firespray but instead they chose to reward those of us who have been playing by allowing us to reuse what we already have. If you are going to make an old ship cross faction (which, honestly I dont like the idea of) then this is a **** good way to do it. It costs you a bit of cash in the short term...but gains you a ton of loyalty in the long term...
Some of the complaints in this thread are mind boggling....

Most Wanted contains two Scum Z-95s with models and a Scum Y-wing with model. It also contains a Scum Firespray, a second Scum Y-wing and a Scumhawk without models. It comes with all the parts to run these ships without component limitations.
I'm not complaining because I'm getting 2 Z -95's. I'm complaining because I can't use the 5 I already have.
Same reason you can't use those Rebel Z-95s as Scyks. The Scum Z-95 and the Rebel Z-95 are not, from a mechanical standpoint, the same ship. Their cards are not crosscompatible and nor are their baseplates. The models are the same shape and the dials have the same maneuvers on them, but mechanically they're effectively the same ship. The Scum can't use the Rebel Z-95 and vice versa.
If for some reason, the Scum dials were completely different from their Rebel and Imperial counterparts, I could forgive this.
The Scum dials are different in that they're not bright red with Starbirds on them, and FFG doesn't want all the artwork blended together as if the game had no faction boundaries in their big events. A Rebel Y-wing dial looks like there's a Rebel Y-wing on the table.
Why jack up the price by printing extra dials for the Firespray, Hwk and an extra Y-Wing when you should already have dials for the ships you own.
They didn't.
Most Wanted is priced accordingly to containing three ships. It costs more than an Acepack because it contains three ships rather than two. It costs the same as a Decimator, which has an expanded box to fit it.
If you look at the website RRPs, a ship is $15, acepack is $30 and Most Wanted is $40. Looks to me like it's $5 less than it should theoretically cost were it just three ships with no conversion kits.
Edited by TIE PilotIf its such a deal breaker, scan the scum Z'95 dial, print it out, and stick to rebel scum Z'95 dial. Will anyone even notice?
The thing i have the most issue with is actually the firespray assuming you'd want to run a dual firespray list you'd have to buy 2 copies of MW to run it compared to the empire firespray where you only have to buy the firespray itself
that's the main reason i can see why you'd want an expansion per scum refit since the same would count for the HWK
If it's that big a deal, feel free to give a Z-95 model to a friend, and tell yourself it just came with one of each (and bonus dials!).

Do you guys get that you're complaining about getting free dials, here?
Why does this conversation keep happening? FFG wants people to use the right dials that go with their ships. A function of dials is marking faction affiliation. You use the right dial for the right ship with everything else, ever, and you always have, without complaint. Now, suddenly, this Most Wanted box comes with a pile of extra dials -- Firespray, Y-Wing, HWK-290, all instead of selling you a new Scum Firespray, Scum Y-Wing, etc -- and you're actually griping about that.
Doesn't it feel just a little bit weird to complain about getting bonus dials that let you use existing ships?
