Copying and Pasting in forum Posts

By bmf, in X-Wing Off-Topic

I can't seem to paste anything into any forum posts on here. I wrote up a tournament report in word and then tried to past it into a new topic. Won't let me do. I don't really want to retype it...I'm using Explorer.

Am I missing something? Is there a workaround?

I'm using Explorer.

?

What exact steps are you taking?

"It's not working" is never sufficient information to diagnose a technical problem.

Are you not seeing anything, are you getting an error message?

Have you tried copy/pasting your battle report into notepad, copying it again and then pasting it to a topic?

Can you c/p to a reply?

Can you c/p anything from inside the browser to a reply field?

Post was typed up in MS Word.

I started a new post on the forums.

I selected all the text in MS Word, right clicked copy.

Went to forum post, right clicked paste. Nothing was pasted in the box.

Tried again but with cut instead of copy. Nothing was pasted.

Tried again but this time instead of right clicking paste I tried using the 3 paste buttons above the box (paste/paste as plain text/paste from word). This time a message pops up and asks if I give permission to access my clipboard. I click yes and again nothing is pasted. Blank.

Ctrl+V does not work either. Copying and pasting from the web browser/another post to a post reply does not work either. No error messages, just nothing gets pasted.

Dagonet:

1) Not seeing anything. No error messages.

2) I have tried notepad. Same result.

3) I can't c/p to a reply.

4) I can't c/p anything from anywhere to a reply.

Right now it sounds like it might be an Explorer problem? Can anyone confirm using explorer and being able to c/p?

I'll just have to wait till I get home and can try Chrome.

Thanks to the people that are trying to help.

Generally IE is the worst available browser. I recommend Firefox, many like Chrome.

I think the problem might be in your specific IE version?

Here at work we use an older version (dunno why), IE8. But we also have Chrome available. And Firefox Portable

I prefer Chrome over any other browser, Firefox takes up too much memory after a while.
