Not sure if anyone else has thought of doing this but I keep a 12 sided die right next to my Decimator. So when I fly the thing, I set the die on the card showing current hull value. Still pull damage cards but instead of having to count them all can see at a glance how many hits left to kill. Could use d8's for Falcons etc. but the Decimator makes the most sense. XWM is not supposed to be a hidden info game so I see no downside and it beats trying to count damage cards at the start of each combat phase.
Anyone else keep a d12 with their Decimator?
Yeah makes sense. I imagine FFG just wanted to make sure that everything in the game works on the red/green dice.
When i wrote some campaign rules up i did the same thing even though games design wise a D6 was more intuative
what do you do if you run a decimator with Hull Upgrade? =P

Get yourself checked out. You are clearly insane. Shield upgrade or bust.

Put a hull upgrade on the D12 using playdough.
I just lay out two rows of six damage cards.

That's just a lot of table space. In addition to the ship card and probably 3+ upgrade cards.
You're already on a 3' x 3' board. This ain't the game to be worrying about table space.
I just group the Decimator's damage cards into sets of three sets of four.

You get punched. I actually have a d13, though it's kind of a stupid thing to have. I like weird dice.
And on that note, it is 10:18, and I'm out of likes for the day. Gonna be a sad day today.
I put them around the Decimatir in a ring
you all assume that the decimator is going to get hit a bunch of times.. ![]()

Well there's that green 0 on the card...
I've rigged my Deci with 12 small firecrackers.
