Given recent revelations (Alex interview, other product previews)...wave 7 prediction
(Why not go back into OT-lore and dig out a Cloucar? sure, atmospheric and such. But.., don't you want one?)
Nope.

I do! Bright Orange Ugly Bubble things! But they were in Empire, and Empire is the greatest film of all time, so therefore they are royalty!
BTW Speaking of Wave 7 - I'm really surprised we've no announcement yet. Wave 6 is officially out today and i *think* that this is the first time we have all waves out with no "Wave" preview to look forward to. I mean yeah the raider hasn't been fully previewed yet, but I'm honestly surprised that we don't have a Wave 7 preview yet. Maybe they are giving us a week or so to settle in to Wave 6 before changing our focus?
Maybe the issues with the ports are holding up announcements too?

2. X-wing needing a little nudge
3. Bombs and ordnance getting a looking into
I foresee a 'battle of yavin aces' with x-wing and y-wing or 'battle of endor aces' with x-wing and bomber. Fresh new ordnance fixing cards in each pack.
As for future releases, I would be happy if we stopped seeing new releases for Rebel and Empire for a while. Can't help but think wave 7 or 8 will be Episode VII ships though.
As a preface, I think the observation made in a few places about a change of release pacing by FFG seems likely. With three factions out there, reducing new waves from 4 to 3 ships just seems to make sense. It gives players a breather in purchasing to buy more FFG products (catching up on all the many waves of X-Wing releases for new players, buying into the new 'Imperial Assault' or 'Armada' games, starting to buy into the 'Epic'-scale X-Wing game, etc), it slows down the need to dig into the EU for more content to use, reduces the amount of new 'X-Wing' content to playtest...
I mostly agree with you on this. I think we will see 1 ship for each faction become the norm in the next few waves. But I still think a proper wave will contain 4 ships. I'm expecting 3 small ships and 1 large ship each wave. With the new Scum faction, one of the 4 new ships every wave could have pilots for two different factions.
I'm curious where FFG is going next with X-wing. I don't think they will break from the Civil War era, and Rebels (TV series) will help with this I have a feeling. I don't think we will see Ep VII ships, as I believe that will spawn its own game(s). The Edge of the Empire RPG is packed full of untapped ships. I expect to start seeing these over the next few waves.

An Aces pack wouldn't be part of a wave, but one of their in-between releases. And since we already know at least one in-between spot (6.5) is taken up by the Raider this year, a Yavin Aces pack couldn't come any earlier than 7.5.
It also wouldn't make much business sense to choke off Imperial and Rebel releases, since there will certainly be Imperial and Rebel players who aren't interested in Scum at all or make light purchases rather than buying up the entire wave.
Imperial Gunboat with movement zero... yes please ![]()
I don't know if either is more likely than the other, but I'd rather have the Punishing One over the Otana. And I'd say the Assault Gunboat is more likely than the Scimitar, but it will come under it's proper name, the Xg-1 Star Wing.

I mean, it's easy to write off speeders & ground vehicles (b/c, duh, this is a space based game) but the fact remains that opening that door brings us V-wings, Snowspeeders, and Cloud cars, which just seem too darned iconic to not incorporate in some way, even if it's in a non-competitive/tourney-legal mission-focused expansion.
The day they introduce snowspeeders and cloud cars to X-wing is the day I walk away from this game.

Have to say I agree 100%...
Does anyone think that they will ever release a ship that is for 2 factions in a blister? I mean, the dials released in Most Wanted show that they have ships used in two factions. Will they ever release a ship new that has two dials and numerous cards in it? Let's say the YT-2000 (though I am sick of only one shipyards ever being in this game) is made. You could probably make it both Rebel and S&V. Why not release it for both? Or do you think they would release it in one and maybe do an expansion down the road? Or release two blisters of the same ship, but different factions?
There are a few other ships that might work the same, as well. What about some old Clone ships? They could be used by S&V, Rebels, or even a few the Empire still employs?
I hope and think you are wrong on all 3 accounts OP. Especially the K-wing. It looks like someone designed this ship for an anime show and decided, what the heck I'll make it a Star Wars ship. What other Star Wars ship has external ordnance hanging off pylons like a modern day military jet? All Star Wars Starfighters have internal ordnance launchers except this stupid one.

Yup!

V-wings: Dark Empire introduced E-wings too, so I guess it's not too much of a stretch, but I don't really recognize them and am not particularly interested in them.
Snowspeeders: these are ground-effect vehicles, and that means they do not belong in my space dogfighting game. (What would their stat line look like? 1/3/2/0?) A Flight Path ground game could be cool, but if it ever happens it will be a different and non-compatible game.
Cloud Cars: they show up in one scene, and in that scene they're basically orange traffic cones doing business as floating police cars. Floating police cars belong in my space dogfighting game even less than snowspeeders do.
I'm sure you can buy any or all of those on Shapeways, and I genuinely hope you have fun with them. But I don't want them in the X-wing Minis game, and I very much doubt FFG will ever look at them for an expansion.
T wing, Gunboat, H wing.
Please let the Gunboat have foldy wings...
The Otana really? must all Rebel large ships be some derivative of a CEC flying saucer? Give me either version of the Baudo, please, over another turret-carrying flapjack. Show some originality for once!
It's looking much more likely that the YT-2000 will be a S&V ship than Rebel.
Imagine if a bunch of designers at Lockheed made a presentation to the board of directors for their latest design ideas for a state-of-the-art new fighter and started with:
"As a starting point for the design, Well we decided to take the basic outline of the C-130 and scale it down by 50%"
Quite a few people would find their desks had been cleared when they returned to work the following morning
Mmm-hmm. Only if the directors were so thick headed they didn't look any further than the aesthetic instead of considering the role the proposed design was intended to fill.
But it was pretty clearly, all along, an X-Wing wannabe. Rather than leaning in the direction of "heavy assault" from the TIE Bomber's starting point (thematically), it instead leans far more heavily towards "superiority fighter".
The flight sims had a pretty **** capable X-wing. The Assault Gunboat felt more like a deathtrap than the TIE fighter, especially against A-wings.

Juno Eclipse is the PS8 TIE advanced pilot in the Raider.

It's not like tehre is a limit to only 1 release inbetween waves. Between wave 3 and 4 we had like 3 releases, (2 Huge ships and Imperial Aces).

I suppose you're right, although I think that situation might have had more to do with production and shipping schedules than FFG's original plans.
If I had to guess, I'd pick
Skipray Blastboat (for Rebels and/or Scum)
Mist Hunter or Punishing One (Scum)
Xg-1 Gunboat/Missile Boat (Imperial)
Of these, I'd guess the Skipray is the most likely and the Xg-1 the least likely.
I agree with one thing in this post: The Lego version is the least hideous version of the K-wing I've seen. For Imps, it's gotta be the Gunboat. That's all anyone's wanted since wave 3. Plus it looks way better than that obscure semi-phallic thing.
If we do see Otana, I suspect it'll be a Rebel ship, if not Rebel + Scum. The Azzameens did become rebel pilots, after all (err, some of them. The ones who flew Otana anyway)

This is the single greatest example of hyperbole ever.

It's plausible that it would end up as a Rebel ship, but the Rebels really don't need another Large turret. More importantly, it's not really clear what you would do with another Large turret that would differentiate it from the Falcon and Outrider. And since it's also plausible that we'd see the Otana as a Scum ship, and the Scum don't have a Large turret yet, I'd say it's more likely to show up there... assuming it shows up at all.

Okay, ya got me. Al the Imperial players have wanted since then.

That's the only part that concerns me. There would have to be some funky movement dial or something to go with it. The 2400 had the whole cannon thing going for it, while the 1300 was the classic tank with 3 dice.
But if anyone can do it, FFG can. They did a great job making Outrider unique, and I have no doubt they'd do the 2000 justice too.
I would rather have nothing else come in wave 7 for the Rebels than get the K-wing.
Hideous does not begin to describe its shape and loathe is the closest I can come to describing how much hate I have for it since the English language lacks the word to quantify my dislike of that EU monstrosity.
Positive note: no one has yet mentioned or suggested the Sun Crusher. So there's that.
