No Hole in this Donought

Hi folks,

Another quick list for your comments, criticism and suggestions.

YT-2400 - (54pts)

Dash Rendar: PTL, Mangler Cannon, Tactician, Outrider, Engine Upgrade.

E-Wing - (45pts)

Etahn A'baht: R2-D2, PTL, FCS, Shield Upgrade.

Total - 99 pts

Tactics are to fly the two ships relatively close so that Dash gets the benefit of Etahn's ability to change one damage result to a Crit.

Shield upgrade, helps buff Etahn up a bit. I needed it at the weekend rather than the Engine Upgrade.

Mangler Cannon shots down the hole in the donought. I lose one shot against an HLC, but it's still a 3 shot range 1-3 360 weapon that doesn't grant the extra defence dice at range 3.

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

with the right mindset, this becomes exceedingly filthy

but yeah, not much to suggest. Its just the same copy-paste Dash build with the mangler swapped in (and tactician, for some weird reason. Why not Kyle? Or, if you want to be a real infuriating piece of ****, why not int agent :)?)

I know it's pretty similar to my other list, but I want to make that E-Wing build work soooooooooooooo badly. Tactician was thrown in there to counter Whisper and ACD. Don't need to hit to assign the stress, and with PTL on Dash I should be able to get into Range 2 easily enough.

That leaves her open for Etahn to do his stuff with the attack dice change thingy and FCS to assign a Target Lock after attacking.

That's the idea. It works so perfectly in my head. :blink:

I think it will be harder than you think to pin down the Phantom with Tactician. Phantoms really don't care about 1 stress all that much. All they have to do the next turn is a green-maneuver and its gone. It limits where they can go, but it doesn't kill them. You really need to double stress a Phantom to put it into a world of hurt. Then they can't use ACD the next turn. But all I do is just fly away with my Phantom cloak and wait til I clear the stress.

Ethan likes a lot of ships flying with him so he can hand out as many crits as possible. You may double crit someone from time to time, but I don't think his buff is worth all that much in this build. I would just run Horn. You can fit him easily w/o the SU.

Sure Phantoms care about stress, especially if applied at a higher PS than they are. They can't cloak and the rest of your squad gets a shot at an uncloaked Phantom.

More talking about his PS 7 Dash which will be shooting at Phantoms after they have already ACD'd. Obviously if you can out PS them and stress them, that is ideal. However, there isn't a whole lot of options for that.

I'm having a lot of luck with Navigator on Dash myself, helps get me clear of blockers more often than not... Have to agree, the Tactician would probably work better on PS 9... But am VERY much looking forward to seeing my very own Mangler Cannon, hopefully this week...
