Tie bomber chute?

By Plainsman, in X-Wing

Rapscallion84 noticed that the chutes look to be improperly placed! I'm apt to agree!

What do you think?

I want to say, "Definitely wrong," but I'm hesitant to use superlatives. But I will say it goes against all my previous experience with TIE Bombers.

Meh, it's an older/newer model or variation or whateverj

No, the picture is of the backs of the bombers. The 2 red dots are the engine glow in the back of the cockpit module on the starboard, and the chutes are definitely connecting to the port module. Unless you mean wrong in some other, more obscure, sense?

Not sure why the engines are only on on the one side though.

What a simple explanation. I do believe you are correct. I thought the lights were running lights for the munitions portal, but they seem to be the twin ion engines. Strange that they're only on one fuselage ...

also, look at the position of the vertical line on the solar panels

Yeah, I'm not sure how this was confusing...there's clearly no cockpit on this side...

Hey guys. I was looking for Tie Bomber art on Google to use in my Alex Davy article. I coudlnt' find any I really liked and that one was down a ways in the results.

The file name of the image said Tie Shuttle.

I was excited to see if anyone would notice. ;)

Well it's so dark on what appeared to the port fuselage where the cockpit should be, that I just assumed it was in shadow.

Did the engines on the back not give it away? aswell as the lack of a cockpit.

The section connecting the pods is too long, marking these as TIE Shuttles, which are bomber variants. That also happens to be where the engines are located if people would bother to verify these things rather than assume. Two people at FFG need slaps upside the head for Homing Missiles: the artist and whomever approved the art.

What? Sorry but I don't see engines at all. The engines of a TIE Bomber look like this:

EDIT: Also, the TIE Shuttle does not have a bombing chute.

Ok! So the chutes are correct! The engines are screwy! They seem too far apart on the one pod and non-existent on the other! Hmmmmm!!!

You guys are expecting far more consistency than Star Wars is really able to give you.

Yes, and so am I.

But I think I've already moved into the 'acceptance' stage of grief.

I'd just like to say screw accuracy, that's a beautiful image and it's now my screensaver.

Still on bargaining myself.

I'm not even grieving...And I'm not denying anything.

I would love to do the same but now that I've noticed the error my brain will fixate on it :(

You are seeing the back of it, you can tell by the placing of the wing, the wing pylon is closer to the front, so you can see (if you look close) that it is farther away from us.

The necro is strong.
