FFG had better hope that S&V brings in more players than it loses. I haven't spent a dime on this game since the announcement of wave 6, and I'd been planning on buying multiples of Rebel Aces and wave 5. Maybe I'll find a place to buy individual upgrades, if I can be bothered to find the motivation to do so.

Wait wait, I'm confused. I thought you were just not buying anything of the new faction? This post makes it sound like you haven't gotten Wave 5 or at least 1 Rebel Aces yet because of the S&V announcement. Or is that exactly what you are saying?

That's exactly what I'm saying. I don't expect to be representative of the player base at large, but S&V has sorely drained my interest in the game. I've managed to content myself by playing with older lists, like multiple Firesprays. As for the Raider, I just don't know. Convincing myself to invest further in a game whose direction disinterests me is something of a challenge at present.

Pretty sure this isn't even a gamble. Actually, players who would quit over such an improvement to the game aren't people who I'd want to play with in the first place.

Probably not, but who amongst us can say for sure? I know I don't have access to FFG's ledgers. As for being an 'improvement' to the game, that's clearly debatable, or this thread wouldn't exist. Perhaps we should refrain from judging each other based on differing interests.

Personally, Wave 5 has been the worst of all waves and the one that makes me want to drop out of the active scene. I still only buy what I want to buy. I still haven't bought a Phantom as I just don't like them. I find that even if you don't want to buy new stuff, won't it be a good thing as it changes the game play overall? I'm looking forward to playing crazy builds that aren't big, turreted ships and/or Phantoms constantly.

As far as aesthetics go, the only decent-looking Scum ship is the Y-Wing repaint (and original Firespray).

Well, non Rebel, non Empire ships should not look like Rebel or Empire ships .

Also, it is worth noting that if FFG stuck to just the ships from the OT, the game would have ended with wave 3, and it would have had one less ship. EU and additional faction(s) are the only way to keep the game going long term. Constant reprints of the same 11 ships would simply not cut it.
