I have been wondering if the reason we haven't seen a wave 7 preview, that we know is done, is because it has ships from episoide 7 in it. they may have to wait till its closer to release date to show any "spoilers" from the movie. Its the only reason I can think of we haven't seen a preview.

I doubt wave 7 will be episode 7 (although the numbering is kind of interesting from a marketing perspective). I would think FFG will want 7 hit around the summer, unless they have a new Aces pack lined up to fill the time before the new movie debuts. I could easily see wave 8 being episode 7 ships though.

That doesn't make sense. Luke Skywalker the X-Wing pilot and Luke Skywalker the crew member are both unique so you can't use them at the same time either. There are tons of Rebel pilots that are also crew members.

Alt painted ships with new pilots and upgrades. Is my preference. Like wave xyz will have an aces pack, a new ship...and maybe a huge ship.

Example:

Scum huge (scum with 2+ crew slots could be interesting) maybe star viper or scyk is included too.

Rebel aces 2 (y and x) lots of astromechs. Y pilots with EPTs, slight buff to Ewing due to astromechs.

New imperial ship: gunboat (missile/torpedo fix)

Next wave:

Rebel epic ship, large base not huge: ghost

Imperial aces 2: bomber and defender

New scum...

The date for announcing Episode 7 related merch is set by Disney as (some date, I think the 22nd.) September. That's the _announcement_ date, not the release date. So I can't imagine Fantasy Flight waiting that long to announce the next wave.

I'm glad you said this because it's a great example of FFG's high level of game designer thinking, and why I so love all their products. I've gotten into a lot of 'trouble' over the past year or so on this forum though because while I hold FFG up on this pedestal, I often take a deviant point of view at the same time. Which I'm about to do again. Because it is extraordinarily kind of them to not make us choose one ship over another and be able to pair all the ships in all the combinations, but at the same time it's limiting the design space unnecessarily I feel. Because to me, having to choose between two ship cards that are mutually exclusive is an intriguing strategic decision. I also think that as more expansions come out, the relevance of having one combination restricted to you due to pilot name will be less of an issue since there are simply more things to work it with anyway. Sure right now when there's just over thirty named pilots, one being a duplicate means he can't interact with ~4% of the other named pilots. But when there are eventually around a hundred named pilots I wouldn't fuss over having 1% or less of the pool available to choose from for having taken a duplicate, y'know what I mean?

You're referring to Autothrusters I presume. You're not seriously suggesting that an upgrade that only 4 ships in the game can equip, which makes them a little bit more viable against turreted ships, is a nerf that will kill off all the turrets in the game. Because that's just crazy talk. If anything Interceptors and A-wings were nerfed from the start by the Falcon, and now they've been balanced with it.

It's what they will do to the poor Y-wing and HWK which you basically never play anyway but now have even less reason to be considered.

Yeah the poor HWK that can suck up stress from other ships, can hoard then pass out focus every turn and boost friendly to PS 12.

I wonder how long it will be out if at all we will hear complaints about AT's. A lot of things will get this initial buzz and then either live up to exactly what we thought, or draw the hate of a thousand Sith burning in lava.

Honestly I still think they are a bit to forceful of a move by FFG, but even that is a more mellowed opinion than initial announcement. Haven't had a chance yet to see how they play with work and school:(

Because crew are more niche cases and sometimes doubling up like that is a better option than the alternative. Falconwise, probably because they wanted you to be able to run the ANH crew on it. With the E-wing Corran made an easy out. Corran as the Falcon's gunner, not as much.

Y-wings and HWKs could already be arcdodged. Any ship that can equip AT is already maneuverable enough to jump into the sizable Range 3 area where Ion and Blaster can't go and again this is only out of arc.

And it's only really hurting Blaster significantly. Ion only needs one hit for full effect and Autoblaster Turret doesn't care about your green dice.

And finally, neither ship is really hurt that much. The HWK isn't really there to deal damage and the Y-wings are probably increasingly going to BTL-A4 route.

It still effects Ion Turrets. If your poor ion gun doesn't connect thanks to that one critical auto evade when you do get a chance to fire it, your SOL. And that's going to happen a lot more now I feel. Because whether or not you could boost out of arc or to range three isn't really the issue, that was already there. We're past the point of whether you had a shot or not, but looking at how successful the shots you do get are going to be with AT's coming into the equation, Which is obviously diminished. Success of Ion is reduced, output of Blaster is reduced. Heck the poor Hawk can't damage the AT equipped ship at range three unless the defender rolls all focus and doesn't have a token for it thanks to it's abysmal main gun. Sure it was never truly there for straight combat, definitely not now, but why would you bring one in a rebel list when it can't survive after it's support is gone and it's sucked up around 30 points? Scum Hawks at least are a bit cheaper.

And even if the A4 Y-on becomes popular I doubt it will do much in event play except as perhaps counter to Large low agility ships

I do. We kind of jumped topic at the bottom of page two. Our bad. Keep up man The only ships I am thinking of right now are the couple that show up in the Force Unleashed series. Juno Eclipse is going to be on the Advanced, so why not. Somehow doubt they will do the Rogue Shadow but I'd be fine with it. There's a troop transport and some funky looking gunship early in TFU2 (...awkward anagram was almost awkward?) but I don't believe they are consistent enough with the rest of the universes art. R. Shadow? Maybe.
