Spawning monsters during a Lieutenant encounter

By KingFolko, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

RTL Question

If the OL uses his Monster Treachery to draw 2 spawn cards from his normal OL deck, how does he play those cards? are the monsters added to the board in the 'normal' way, with LOS check etc... Or, are they placed on the exit points like a reinforcement monster?

They are placed outside the exit points like reinforcements.

Anyone care to cite the rules or FAQ entry that covers this? I can't find anything.

1) This only can be used in Lt encounters, NOT normal encounters. Lt encounters is the only time an OL can get card using Treachery.

2) Its never explicitly stated in the rules anywhere. Its an extension of the rules concerning Reinforcing monsters in Lt encounters. if the OL has monster Treachey, he can use it to spawn monsters. And since the only way that monsters can enter an Encounter is through the Exit spaces, hence the ruling above.

EDIT: Actually it is stated somewhere. Its in the GLoAQ:

Q: Can spawned monsters in outdoor encounters be activated the same turn or are they treated as reinforcements?
A: They are treated as reinforcements in all respects. The normal limit of one spawn card per turn still applies. They do not get to move until the next turn
