100 pts. This is a great jouster list. Once Mara jade gives all your opponents in range one stress there no escaping the proximity mines, and oicunn ram ability. Next round bombers kturn and are on your opponents six

I freaking love bombers.

Just having proximity mines on them is enough to make your opponent question who to target, and it is scary because they know if they hit those mines there is no defense against it.

Ya it's a gamble, but it's enough to throw them off their game.

More times than not, an opponent who decides to joust against them has usually hurt him much more than me

Like it was mentioned bombers are not something you see often, so it is enough to throw off an opponent.

Add proximity mines to the mix, and again, it's not something many see so just the presence alone is enough to make them question, what do I need to do here?

Bombers are not squishy, so if they focus on them, that's great, lose one, oh well you still have two or three plus a bigger threat

True, but even so, I have three (2 from firesprays and 1 from winning summer tournament)

I've only ever needed two out as it's not to often they stay in play.

9 times out of 10 I'm dropping them under something so they go off right away

Several places sell sets of Acrylic Bomb tokens pretty cheaply - I got a set of 3 of each from Cogotwo

The templates aren't so much the problem, as the templates also require a card in order to be used. I have two Proximity Mines from two Firesprays, and a third template in acrylic from an OP kit. But with only two cards, the third template is just a paperweight in any competitive setting.

I find this thread very interesting as I haven't tried bombers before. Recently won one at an event however so that will change. Now corrext me if I'm wrong, but I've always had the impression that bombers should preferably not be used on their own, but rather in groups of two or more, just like TIEs and Z95s.

Depends entirely on what you're using them for. Some people like flying them as tankier TIE Fighters. Others use one in a specialized role of an alpha-striker. Captain Jonus is paired with two Defenders with HLCs. TIE Bombers are very versatile ships.

True, but if you're going to borrow a card for a tournament, couldn't you just as easily borrow the template? Either way, it's not hard to come up with a workable solution. In fact, I've never found myself in a position to use three Proximity Mines in the first place.

But I do have something in the works for when I get my hands on Scum & Villainy. :lol:

Proximity mines are MUCH better than people think. 3 dice with no chance to avoid is great against phantoms and Fat Han.

low PS bombers move and drop bombs before most opponents. Give them cluster or homing missiles for more punch. Scimitar squad is hard to kill in one shot (Corran can do it if he is lucky) and if played right are very much worth their points. pair them with a big ship like the deci or shuttle and they tend to be ignored until it's too late.

plus using Bombs is fun!

I love the comments and the bomber love in this thread.. I love the bomber, and usually use prox mines with them. I've had a losing streak that is frustrating me.. gonna try the Oicunn list above.. see how it does.
