Took 3rd in my local store championship

By SciFiGuy84, in X-Wing

I took Blubacca.

Chewy with PTL/Nien/Engine Upgrade

2x Blue Sq. W/Adv. Sensors

Went up against two different players running pretty similar Phantom/Decimator lists, lost first one by crappy dice roll, won the second one but lost a B. Then I played a very unorthodox Han/Jan Ors list and lost both B's and came down to the last round of shooting. I landed the critical that drops pilot skill to 0 on Han so that pretty much gave me the much needed upper hand to win.

I won a dice pack,a bag, some acrylic focus tokens, and a YT-2400. All in all a fantastic game. I learned Decimators are tough but not invincible.

I got 3rd, too! *high fives*

"Echo" + ACD, RecSpec, FCS, VI

Soontir + Hull, PtL, Targeting Computer

Doomshuttle

I beat Dash with A's and a Z; double Phantom and a Shuttle; Han and 3 A's; and Decimator/Firespray. Lost to Han/Corran and Decimator Phantom. All my games were probably winnable, and some closer than they should have been, if only I could fly better.

I also finished third today, yay!

It was my first ever tournament and I just went in expecting to have a good time. Over half of the lists in the tournament were flying Decimators, and all but one of those paired it with a phantom. So crazy. Turned out I was the only one that flew a YT-2400.

I went with:

Leebo + HLC + Outrider + Recon Spec + Determination

2x Blue Squadrons with Adv. Sensors

My first loss was against a Deci/Phantom list that I flew very poorly against. I split up the B's and Leebo and the B's were each one shotted in the first two turns. That hurt. Even after losing them that quickly I still got the Deci down to 2-3 hull and got the Phantom to 1 hull, with some help from Leebo doging a crit twice.

Then I lost in the semi-finals to a Decimator/Defender list in a very close game, but I made a few key mistakes that kept me from taking the Decimator's final hull. I did a 4 straight to on my Blue to try and chase the Deci, but he boosted out of my arc, when I could have done a 3 to finish him off.

Oh well, lesson learned, and I'm more than happy with the end result. Was a lot of fun.

Yeah my first match I got a Decimator down to one hull then completely whiffed my 1-range 4-shot on it right before he finished me. I split up my B's and they got picked apart.

I was shocked at how many decimator/phantom lists there were. Mostly just 2-ship lists but one had two phantoms with the decimator. Couple 2400's, and the obligatory TIE swarm.

Our store champ today only had one phantom/deci. But we had a bunch of yt1300/yt2400 lists and one double falcon.... those double turrets are beastly.

Is this the I took third club?

Super Dash + Corran FCS VI

Didn't lose a ship all Swiss but couldn't take the time without break so made some stupid mistakes in top 4.

Hey! Me too! Lol. Took 3rd yesterday out of 18. I was running Whisper with ACD, Tactician, VI, FCS and Admiral Chiraneau with Expose, Experimental Interface, Rebel Captive. The list ran pretty good all day. I had a few easy matches and a few tough ones

How do you know 3rd from 4th? Initial seeding? I guess I took 3rd in my 1st Store Championship. Lost in the semi-finals, but I was the higher seed than the other guy.

I also took 3rd on this Saturday! I went with 4 Tie Bombers and was the only undefeated going into Final Four! I got creamed by 3 Tie Phantoms.

Still, happy I did so well.

I took third two weeks ago! Took Wedge, Luke, and Wes to the top four out of 25ish and scored some store credit! And a Wedge promo card from a random deck we were allowed to pick from!!!

I learned quickly to take out the big Decimator first. Yeah Phantoms are killers at close range but that big turret needs to die first in my opinion. I split up my B's from Chewy and that cost me my first match because I wasn't able to focus fire enough each turn on the VT. I also had really crappy attack rolls so that doesn't help either. My second match the guy flew a Whisper/Echo with a TIE and he really didn't know when to de-cloak and attack, so I shot him to pieces pretty quickly, and he only knocked my shields down a bit.
