I'd love to show up and see everyone, but a combination of kid #2, $$$, and feeling a somewhat disconnected from actually playing the game is going to prevent me this year.

I'm thinking about next year though, and I might even try to drag cha0s along with me.

One month away from the first day of Gencon!

Can't get the badge till thursday.

I did reserve airplane tickets today and got the days off, so I'll be at Gencon this year.

I will be there and I _should_ be playing in the joust. I just have to confirm that my work schedule there leaves me free.

Since I'm in charge of said schedule, you'd think I'd be able to assure myself... but alas I'm also in charge of everyone else, and they might not be so cooperative.

Even though it's been a year since Binder and I have played seriously, we've been keeping up with buying chapter packs and making decks. Maybe we will pool our money together to buy a plane ticket and one VERY large, suspiciously human-shaped carry-on luggage. I'll only consider going if I can share a bed with Rings again.

As of today, it is only myself and probably Wyndwalker. Plenty of room for PDX folk...especially if you actually make it to my league on Saturday.

--> Since I missed the deadline to get the badge (I had to wait for my boss to confirm I can take the time off)... I can't even see what hotel they are using.

I will be going along w/ 2 other players from TN. So that makes 5 of us counting Longclaw and Wade.

It won't let me update my original list, but it looks like the message board list is up to about 23. Considering I'm sure we'll have a few people come play who don't post on the boards, right now I'm hoping for 32. I'd be very pleased with a turnout of 32.

I'd like to remind everyone who plans to attend GenCon that I will be bringing a "Standard" deck with me that I enjoy much, much, much more than playing any LCG deck to date, and will be looking for pickup games when hanging out around the FFG hall. If you have a few "Standard" decks that you'd like to throw against it, send me a forums PM and I'll exchange numbers with you.

in the last few years the gencon staff has increased their efficiency tenfold when it comes to keeping the badge lines in check, so you'd probably be fine getting there early.

On Thursday, Aug. 13th @ 11am in FFG's area of the card hall (if there isn't room for us, we'll find someplace else) we'll do a Standard Joust event. As mentioned earlier, Standard would be ITE, HoTh, HoTal, 5KE, the 6 CoA CPs, Core Set, the 6 TfR CPs, the 3 KL CPs currently available and the KotS LCG Expansion. Jaqen is banned, all other cards from those sets are legal. (Sorry Luke, but my experience is that those who play Standard follow the Jaqen ban and, while not a perfect solution, it solves more problems than it causes.)

With registration for the Legacy Joust starting at 3pm, I'm thinking we'll just do Round Robin (6 or fewer players) or 4 rounds of Swiss (no elimination rounds).

Prizes:

For 2-4, I'll put up sets of 7 custom-made card sleeves (that's enough for a plot deck). I'll have 1 for each House, 2nd place chooses first and so on.

For 1st place, I'll make a set of 60 custom card sleeves. Choose any art I can get to at the show (like a card in your deck) and I should have them ready by Saturday.

And, of course, if anyone else wants to throw something into the "prize kitty," they are welcome to.

Very interested...an hour later maybe I think I get in at about 10.30...I will be trying hard to make it but it is doubtful. ~But I certainly remember how ktom is if you are late...

i'd be in for making it an hour later too, for that matter -- four games can go pretty quickly
