That's the thing with most of the EU ships in general. The K-Wing is just as bad as the Scimitar. The E-Wing almost had something going for it, until whichever moron decided to put the canon right above the canopy. The Defender is just a TIE hull with three inverted Interceptor wings. I mean, there are some gorgeous things like the Chiss Clawcraft out there, but there are few relevant ones, in my opinion.

I know I'm coming off as salty about it, but there has to be some alternative to the K and Scimitar for ordnance. And in all honesty, if FFG can design something as beautiful and aesthetically functional as the Raider, I wouldn't mind if they pumped out a few of their own small and large ships for the sake of not picking some ugly ships. I mean, they can make it "Star Wars-y" enough and I'd be happy, but I know a lot of people would be even happier if they collaborated with Lucasfilm or whoever they did with the raider to create new models that look good.

I don't want to hijack this thread with a rant, so I'll add that I'm excited for what they have planned with ordnance. It seems like they're testing the waters with Emon Azzameen in Scum to see if people show more interest in trickier ordnance plays, but I am looking forward to see some more ordnance on the table.

By no metric other than pure adultered subjectivity is the Scimitar pretty.

It's nice to see the devs coming out to meet fans and play the game that's something you don't tend to see with other companies.

Well I brought 2 in my last store tournament and will do the same in the next one! Being a little bit unknown is actually part of their strenght.

Untrue! I went 4 rounds undefeated yesterday with My Name is Jonus list. I was the only ship to do so. I made it to the Final Four and had to face 3 Tie Phantoms, which are my bane. If I had only faced the 2 Decimator list instead...

That's out of Galactic Battlegrounds. They had a two barrel one too. FFG then made it a thing, fleshed out its lore extensively, gave it shields and even gave it a TIE/xx designation, the TIE/IT. You know, I actually wouldn't be surprised if they made it.

I, too, have taken Bombers (to last years Regionals). The only ordnance I used that day was Seismic Charges. And sad to say, I was in the 99% that did not make the Elimination Rounds.

You are not alone in this. I will almost always take a TIE Bomber over a TIE Fighter any day. Unless I'm running a TIE swarm, of course.

Some cheap and easy to fire ordnance would make the world of difference - say an Attack: Focus missile that fires at R2-3, a 1 dice attack but you add 1 crit/hit to the result and get to use your focus - perhaps make it a 2 dice attack if you have a TL as well as a focus, so you reward good piloting.

Offer that for 2 points, and suddenly missile boats are a thing

I'd normally agree somewhat, but the implication was that bombers (probably meaning bomb/ordnance carriers, not the TIE bomber specifically) would be getting attention within the wave 7 release. Unless he meant what we would call "wave 6.5" or 7.5; an aces type release, this means that the implied fix is coming within a wave-type release, which means new ships. Operating under that assumption, it's a good bet that the bombs/bombers fixes are coming with new ships, because new wave = new ships. New ships with bombs/bombers fixes will probably be 'bombers' themselves, so they are compatible with the upgrades that they come with.

Introducing a new set of 'fixed' torpedoes and missiles (meaning more cost effective) would mean that the old cards will be permanently relegated to the 'back of the folder' and never used. The designers have consistently shown interest in preventing that sort of thing, which is why I expect a broad ordnance fix more than new torpedoes that are costed more appropriately to the current game state.

I have a prediction:

It's anyone's guess what ships the next wave will hold, but I'm betting among these "bomber fixes" is a new ordnance: The Advanced Concussion Missile. What will it do? No idea. But many have mentioned the Assault Gunboat, which carries an impressive armament of Concussion Missiles, the Missile Boat, which carries Adv Conc Missiles Specifically, and they exist in the first wave of Armada. Thus far, there are other cards with the same art in both games, and it appears that there will be more cards in the Raider that match armada cards, so as far as I'm concerned, it makes sense.

Right or wrong, this was likely a useless prediction.

If there are new models for a Rebel bomber, hopefully it'll be something like the ship on the cover of "AoR: Stay On Target"
