Alex grew up in Fargo gaming at our FLGS, Paradox Comics n Cards so the owner asked him to make an appearance for our Store Championship.

Just got back from the tournament and roughly 9 hours of xwing will drain you.

I don't have any actually decent recording equipment, so I did the best I could with what I had, an old digital camera and my phone. But I did take lots of notes.

I'll be writing up an article covering all the notes I took tomorrow or as soon as I can, and we'll also be talking about it and possibly having some audio in the next episode of the Jodo Cast.

In the mean time, here's a few tid bits that I recall off the top of my head for you guys.

Wave 7 is pretty much done. And Bombers/Bombs will be getting a lot of love in that wave.

He's working on wave 8 right now.

He's not Armada exclusive, they still pull him over to do x-wing stuff.

He's pretty sure we'll see stuff from Rebels eventually.

They pay attention to what's going on on the forums, but not so much for specific ideas, but moreso for what ships/cards are really good, which ones need help etc. That seemed to be what he was getting at when I asked him.

the possibility of a "card only" expansion is pretty much 0.

He thinks the "X-Wing needs a boost." Pretty sure he just meant a "fix" rather than the boost action but who knows.

he if he could he'd reduce the price of the ordance, but that's not something you can do in a tabletop game. So they're working on other ways to get them worth bringing to the table.

I've got a lot more great stuff, but that'll have to wait until I actually compile it all into some sort of (hopefully) good format over on The Jodo Cast.

For instance he said he thought the HWK would've been just fine with a 2 attack primary. Not something that's going to change, just how he felt.

Nothing besides it seems Bombers, Bombs, and Ordnace are going to be affected.

And Bombers/Bombs will be getting a lot of love in that wave.

That means it's not an acepack. Assault Gunboat and K-wing, possibly. Anyone know how armed in terms of torpedoes the Skipray is? Fairly sure the Hound's Tooth's pretty good in terms of rockets as well.

Hopefully the X-Wing does gets a nudge. For the cost, a base ship has an extremely predictable movement pattern. Additional action bar options like evade or boost would be welcome. If I do field an X-Wing now, it's either Tarn or Biggs.

Nothing extremely new. He already mentioned they had big plans for Bombers. That it is tied to Wave 7 is interesting. Though if he is working on Wave 8 now, does seem to slow down product releases a bit (though there is still side releases inbetween).

EDIT: You, I do have to commend Alex for playing in the Store Championships. I don't think many designers would do that. Between this and his commentary at Worlds, it shows that he is a real big fan of the game, which mkaes him an incredible asset to the game.

You are not alone in this. I will almost always take a TIE Bomber over a TIE Fighter any day. Unless I'm running a TIE swarm, of course.

Obviously, it has always been cool. But loving it has not been considered cool. Just look at MJ's stats. The TIE Bomber doesn't even get 1% in the ship count at tournaments, and doesn't get into the elimination rounds

Based on that, I'm guessing the Scimitar Assault Bomber and several new bombs. Probably a title or mod that will be bomber and Scimitar exclusive.

As far as which ships I want to see... At this point we've nearly run out of the ships I'm attached to, so I'm just excited to see what cool stuff they're going to introduce me to.

Yeah, I think that is what I would most like as well. Problem might be that doing that in regular expansions would require so many cards as to be unworkable. They would want to include multiples of each ordnance, and would need Mk2s of all, or at least most, of the existing ordnance, so we would be talking, what, at least 12 cards devoted to fixes? Even if it were spread out over 4 expansion packs I am not sure they would want to devote that many cards to it.
