Kyle Katarn (Crew) and 2 stress tokens

By mikev3, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Hello. The situation is: my ship has Push the Limit elite talent. I move ship first, choose an action, then take additional action from PtL. I assign 1 stress token to my ship. During combat phase I attack Imperial Ship with Rebel Captive. So I take second stress token. My question is: can I assign focus token from crew Kyle Katarn after executing green turn still having 1 stress token?

There is no restriction that says you may not have any remaining stress to activate Kyle - so yes - you get a focus if you remove a stress even if you still have stress remaining.

Likewise if you remove 2 stress you would get 2 focus.

Stress does not effect the assignment of tokens.

Stress only effects actions (and red maneuvers), which are the most common method of assigning tokens.

Thanks for answer. Can I perform focus action from Kyle having 1 stress remaining?

No.

No actions, regular or free, cannot be taken when you have a stress token (unless you have a pilot or EPT that allows to do so otherwise).

Giving/assigning a token isn't an action, so you can do that - as noted above.

To elucidate, the Kyle Katarn crew DOESN'T have you perform a Focus Action. It Assigns you a Focus Token, which is different.

The last step of the Focus Action is to Assign you a Focus Token. That's their only overlap.

  • There is no limit to how many tokens you can be assigned, assuming the triggers are met
  • There is no limit to when you can be assigned a token, assuming the triggers are met

  • You can only perform one of an action per round
  • You cannot perform actions while stressed, and lose your Perform Action step upon colliding with a ship or an obstacle.

Sorry, yes. I was thinking Pilot Kyle, who I use far more frequently...

I'm not recalling how it would be possible to remove two stress?

2 allies with wingman nearby would do it.
