store championship tomorrow please help

By thebigeb2589, in X-Wing Squad Lists

So I'm torn between these two lists thoughts would be greatly appreciated

1st360 2400(100/100)

===================

YT-2400: Dash Rendar (36 + 17)

+ Push the Limit (3)

+ Heavy Laser Cannon (7)

+ "Leebo" (2)

+ Outrider (5)

YT-1300: Chewbacca (42 + 5)

+ Lone Wolf (2)

+ Mercenary Copilot (2)

+ Millennium Falcon (1)

2nd choice

(100/100)

===========================

B-wing: Dagger Squadron Pilot (24 + 7)

+ Heavy Laser Cannon (7)

Z-95: Lieutenant Blount (17 + 5)

+ Assault Missiles (5)

YT-2400: "Leebo" (34 + 13)

+ Determination (1)

+ Heavy Laser Cannon (7)

+ Outrider (5)

Not sure Leebo is worth it. Also having long wolf on one of only 2 ships is going to make you spilt your force to use this upgrade and splitting 2 ships up is going to allow your opponent to focus fire you out. I'd say drop all upgrades on Chewie and take gunner. and drop Lone wolf to get you to 99pts. You can keep your ships together.

Just curious...where is your tournaments...I have one tomorrow too!

The one I am going to is at Critical Hit Games in St.Pete

oh nevermind. mine is in Denton Tx

just weird that another tournament on a sunday

Allentown PA

Any thoughts on the second choice?

Chattanooga, TN is doing one also.

Chewbacca

-C3po

-Kyle katarn

-falcon title

-PTL

Leebo

-Jan ors

-outrider

-HLC

100 points

you keep them at range 1 of each other take an evade on chewie push the limit take a focus use jan to change it to an evade your streesed use a green manuver next round clear strees get a focus for that, take and evade, use ptl to take a focus that you change into an evade. So at this point every round you should have 2 evade and a focus. sometime i would take a target lock instead of focus. 2 evade and a c3po make it really hard for people to get damage on you. i keep chewie between the outrider and everyone else that way the outriders almost always attacking at range 3 you get extra dice when someone attacks the outrider at range 3 but the outriders using a secondary so 4 dice and the defender doesnt get a range bonus. Hope that makes sense i'm a little tired.

I like this idea but I don't have c3po any suggestions on what to spend those points on

There are alot of option you could take recon specialist instead so that you'll have 2 evade tokens and two focus. It will slightly increase possible evades on dice because you'll have a focus for offense and defense or just two focus for defense depending on how you need to spend it. Off the top of my head I can't think of anything atm except maybe the upgrade card that treats a large ship as an obstical? so when the falcon is between someone and leebo. then leebo will get an extra defense dice. This list worked very well for me just remember stay out of asteroid fields and keep them together. You could also run r2-d2 on chewie if you have the crew for him. I'd say just check out what cards are 3 points are less that you could put on either of the ships and figure out whats going to work best for you. Maybe throw draw there fire on one of your ships or determination. I'd only put those on leebo probably because he can pick the crit card. Gl in your game today let me know how it goes.

I agree with the point on Lone Wolf, but Leebo is absolutely worth it. The trick in my opinion is that you really need to pair him with Determination. Every crit you draw two, and if one is a pilot you cancel the crit and damage completely. It saved my Leebo a number of times at my Store Championship yesterday. Throw on Recon Spec and he becomes very survivable.

I ran Leebo with HLC, Outrider, Recon Spec, Determination. Comes out to 50 points and I had a lot of success with it.

As for the OP's lists, I'd be careful putting PtL on Dash. Not only does it make your moves very predictable, but it seems to me like a LOT of people are running stress mechancis like Rebel Captive and Tactician, which can shut down a PtL Dash pretty quickly.

As for the second list, I like it. My only criticism would be that 22 points seems like a lot to spend on a one-time, one-trick pony in Blount. But if you're expecting to run into a lot of swarms then it's certainly a great investment. Personally I'd swap Blount out for Cracken and use the extra 3 points to slap Recon Spec on Leebo. That way you get the double focus, wich the 2400 loves, and you can get a free barrell roll from Cracken if someone ends up in your doughnut hole.

So something like:

Leebo + HLC + Outrider + Recon Spec + Determination (50)

Blue Squadron + HLC + FCS (31)

Cracken (19)

have you tried something like this

Chewbacca

jan ors , recon spec, millennium title , push the limits 51 pts

dash

HLC, push the limits , klye katarn

chewie - gets 1 focus , I evade, second action as needed evade, or target lock so possible 2 evade, focus stress

dash gets two actions which stresses him which starts turning into focus due to kyle front arc rolls 4 dice so you can barrel as needed to keep people in the front arc. plus the 360 turret for those that do get around you

I have used this list twice against BBBBZ and double decimator it ate both lists although dash did die in the BBBBZ , but not before takeing out the z ,1 b and hurting 1 b very bad. I want to try it against double falcon to see how it does.

Wanted to thank everyone for their input. I went with the second list didn't get the cracken suggestion over blount till after I had registered my list. I took second place though :)
