So is everyone going to have to paint X-wing's Blue now?

By eagletsi111, in X-Wing

Since the new Movie has blue painted X-wings, do we all have to paint our x-wings blue now? Plus it will clash with the Z-95's.

Just wondering?

X wing Aces pack will probably take care of it.

Your kidding right? The new movies are not a remake. They are set in a time period after the original trilogy. So no. You don't have to paint them blue...... As a matter of fact you dont have to paint anything if you dont want to. Of course, you can if you do want to. Or make them green, or purple or pink with white flowers. They are your ships..

In the old flight sims the markings on X-wings matched their squadrons: Red had red markings, Green had green, Blue had blue.

I am not touching the FFG paintwork

I would not ever try to hold my personal skills to theirs :P

Way ahead of you, and the movie trailer, I might add. Did a repaint of 4 X-wings like this about 8 months ago:

The nose art is an X-wing skimming along a surface of water kicking up a vapor trail; shamelessly stolen by JJ from me for the trailer, that bastard! Seriously though, it's a pretty funny coincidence.

I painted all mine bright ass orange. I love it.

How have I not seen pictures of this yet?! (I'm sort of obsessed with the color orange.)

The original script (or at least the novelization ghostwritten by Alan Dean Foster, who also wrote the first EU novel, Splinter of the Mind's Eye) had Red Squadron as Blue Squadron.

This had to be changed during filming as the blue markings on the X-Wings didn't work with the blue screen effects. So they were changed to Red Squadron but was too late to change it in the novelization.

Same reason ANH TIEs are grey and all the others are blueish.

Why they had to copy that into X-wing I'm not completely sure.

I painted mine like Blue Angels lol

Any pics ^^^

Anyone want to paint their Decimater in hello kitty colors? lol

All of mine are already blue!

There is already a Vt-49 with those colors. Search You Tube.

A link would be nice

I am glad you pointed this out, because some people just seem to completely miss that about the old movies and I absolutely loved it.

Yes. As per FFG's new official rules, all players MUST paint all their X-Wings blue. Good question.

we will need some clarification on the new ruling.

what shade of blue?
