Hi, I'm still pretty new to x-wing, and I have a dilemma about what ship to get next. I already have 1 y-wing, and like the subject says am looking at getting another one, or an E-wing, or the HWK-290. Sorry if this is posted in the wrong section, I thought it was best posted here. Thanks for any help.

E-wing can be really fun to play it just cost a lot of points

The E-Wing can make list building easier since the starting costs for one is 27-57% of your list. So if your collection is small the E-Wing is a good choice

If you enjoy small based Turrets I'd go with the HWK-290. It's pilots add a good deal of synergy in most lists they're in and it gives you access to a Blaster Turret which you may want to place on your Y-Wings.

An added benefit is that the HWK looks and can take the part of the Senator's Shuttle when playing that mission. While the Token does work nicely more models on the table adds a better 'feel' to scenario.

The Y-Wing should probably be your last choice of the 3 unless you plan on entering a Tournament in the near future and if you're planning on picking up S&V at the same time. I say last choice because the HWK and the Y-Wing can fulfill similar roles but the HWK can do other things that the Y-Wing cannot through it's Named Pilots.

Anyways hope this helps, also knowing what you currently have would effect which of the 3 you should purchase as how they would fit in the list differs depending on collection. Also playstyle should also be taken into effect, if you know someone who owns an E-Wing, Y-Wing, or HWK ask to borrow one for an evening and test out having it or a second Y in lists that best suits your style.

Thanks for the great answer! I'm still trying to figure out my play style. But I can tell you what I have already: core set, 3 x-wings, 1 y-wing, 1 rebel transport and x-wing, 1 A-Wing, rebel aces pack, and the YT-2400. I am leaning toward the HWK.

Also, using it as the senator's shuttle is a genius idea! Thanks for the help!
