First game, REALLY fun and learned a lot

By Forensicus, in Star Wars: Armada

Forensicus, is it possible for you or your buddy to tell us the exact length of the ships? Thanks.

My mate thinks he will have the review (AND photos up before the weekend if all goes well. Stay tuned

Hrm, maybe not this weekend then - perhaps next weekend? :D

I've brought the matter of urgency to his attention

Hehehe!

Well, if he comes up with any crafty excuses, maybe you can use the: "Asteroid fields are not of any concern to me..." -just substitute asteroid with said 'crafty excuses'. Hehe.

Truthfully though, the information will be ready, when it's ready. I would much much rather your friend took his time to put together a co-herent report as opposed to a rushed patchwork of confusion.

Another tease:

Really nice pic again! Of course I prefer imperial themed pics but great in any event!

Today will be a glorious day. It might not see the death of Obi-Wan Kenobi and it might fail to witness the destruction of the Rebellion but it WILL see my chance of playing my second game and afterwards the game will be in my possession for 10+ days

Muhahaha!!!

(Edit: I also tend to fly my VSD off the table in about 100% of my game(s) so far, so maybe not so "boss" after all)

Any chance of some video footage?

Also on my wishlist:

Pics of the game manual

Pics of the damage card effects :D

Due to some possible copyright and general "good conduct" issues I will abstain from detailed/systematic photos of the rule books, cards etc. but we might do a small snippet of video footage. And certainly more photos

I'm looking forward to anything you can post Forensicus!!!

I thought you got to pre-measure your movement?

Yeah, but if you get a Star Destroyer too close to facing an edge, it probably cant turn sharp enough to stay on the board.

I believe that's called Brannigan's Maneuver.

A bulk upload for your enjoyment. Explanations will follow. Alas all my TIE's suffered a horrible demise.

Thanks for the new pictures! The rebel scum may have won that battle but the empire will return to crush their little insurgency!!!

All I want to know is why that CR-90 made it through your forward arc at point blank range? I find your gunners performance... disappointing.

Observation: The blockade runner goes right across the nose of the Vic SD without getting destroyed, and a nimble Nebulon-B frigate skirts around to the rear of the Vic and stays on its tail. Meanwhile the Imperial somehow takes massive losses to his TIE squads.

Somebody choke the Imperial officer that was flying that VSD!!! He couldn't navigate his way into a supernova if it exploded within a light year of his ship!

5 minutes until launch of the review (in Danish) is live on my mates homepage.....

Easy to judge when we haven't played ourselves yet. :) There will be a learning curve for everyone, don't you worry.

"Legend has it that the deep Nordic commitment to the Force ensured that a small batch of 3 copies of FFG's Star Wars: Imperial Armada was flown in to the small settlement called Denmark in the Outer Rim. Here a band of dedicated devotees was given the opportunity to do a review of the magneficient game and share it with the rest of the world. Currently the review has only been translated from Aurebesh to danish, but soon it might be translated into Basic/English. In the meantime this is the tale and experiences gained, brought to you via Holonet on behalf of www.papskubber.dk "

All hail Blastebo for the review.

Check out the timelapse at the bottom. Everyone can/may agree on poor maneuvering on the Imperial (my) behalf, but we all live and learn.
