Stores with kits NOT running championships?

By Hidatom, in X-Wing

16 players and 4 rounds of swiss = 1 undefeated player

Event rules for SCs mandate a certain number of rounds and Top Cut at different attendance levels.

link? only one I found was "In larger tournaments, the TO may “make a cut” after a predetermined

number of rounds."

16 players sounds like a small tourney to me

There is no link available as it the information I am talking about is on an insert with each SC kit which contains how prizing is to be distributed and and the mandatory event structure. Stores also got an email from FFG adjusting that event structure.

From memory a 16 person tournament requires 3 rounds of Swiss and a Cut to 4. According to the rules FFG expects the event to adhere to.

Well no as it seems if the FLGS felt there would be a low turn out they can indeed split up the kits or sell them whole on Ebay or wherever.

Or at least that's the impression I got.

Also what you need to remember is that stores are probably buying loads of these and not running events.

Any bricks and mortar place can apply for them but no one checks if they are actually running events.

They quite simply do not need to tell anyone.

This thread is about Store Championship kits, not Game Night Kits. Your comments are on the wrong subject.

Yeh I'm talking about store championship kits.

What's a game night kit?

If you're talking about SC kits you're badly misinformed. There aren't "loads" of stores buying SC kits; it's a competitive process to be issued one. FFG actually publicizes contact info for every store that gets an SC kit, so players can find them.

Yeh I'm talking about store championship kits.

What's a game night kit?

Kits that come out by season and generally include a generic promo, a named pilot promo, some kind of acrylic, and a card box (next kit is dice bag).

The current kit is Scimitar Squadron Tie Bombers, Han Solo, a Falcon card box, and cloak tokens. These, to my knowledge, can be distributed out to players by the store hosting events in any way they choose in support of X-Wing events, though pretty sure they're not supposed to be eBaying them.
