I am sure everyone uses Advantages and threats differently for each skill. Is there a compilation of how people use Advantages, Threats, successes etc?
New Advantage spends for skills
There are some based on environments that people have created. Not per skill per se. The core rules has a few suggestions, and I would absolutely suggest listening to the skill monkey podcasts on various skills.
But I haven't seen any sort of complete compilation based on skills.
Trouble with compilations is that even the most expansive of tomes can't account for every situation.
My advice for session prep: just jot down what you'd spend Triumph, Despair, Threat, and Advantage on in your encounters, using only the environment. In other words, you've established what's already going to be there, so use it to the best effect. And if you can't find anything to happen with Threat, then make something. Put in unstable coolant pipes, man-eating jungle vines, and overhead storage bins full of gambling chips until you are satisfied with your environment.
My advice for gameplay/impromptu: let the players take the lead. If they are shy about it, just encourage them to make a suggestion. And try really hard not to completely shoot down their ideas when they come up with something overpowered. Just run with it, narrate it, and then give it a mechanical effect like a setback, an upgrade, or a boost to the next roll. Or have the critical injury / critical hit lists handy and reference them for a temporary effect. The more Threat, the more severe the effect can be!
The Environmental Effects portion of chapter 6 is great, as are the tables therein (6-7, 6-8, 6-9) for suggestions.
