The recent discussion of the Starviper got me thinking a bit. The strength of its dial is that it has all the 1 moves. The weakness, in my opinion, is that it lacks a 3-turn. I started wondering, then, are there any small based ships that have all the 1 moves and all the turns? I can't think of one. It might make for an interesting ship, and a cool way to have high mobility without a lot of action-based mobility.
Small based ship with all the good moves?
Tie Defenders are the closest you will come (lacking only the 1 forward). But they also have their 1 and 2 turns as red maneuvers.
Yeah, but that 1-forward is big, so is the fact that the 1s and 2s are red. It's great to have the option, but they become more of a special-case move than something that's in the playbook every turn.
doubt you would-slow things like y-wings etc get slow speed stuff and interceptors and a-wings get the faster moves...
it'd be an AWESOME ship that got the lot (especially if they were green/white...)
Oddly enough, the X-wing/E-wing comes closest. That 1-turn is big though.
Huh. The StarViper and the B-Wing have the same sets of forward moves, just in different colors.
And I agree that while the Defender comes close, the combo of red turns and no green banks makes the dial pretty restrictive. I need to get better about doing 1t,5f,4k to reset stress and range.

Given the choice, I'd much rather have the StarViper's dial than the E-wing's: 1-turn > 3-turn.
I do wish the StarViper had a K-turn, though.

(not any other B-wing, though..it stresses the little guys out

They make it a Point not to make any single ship with every 1-3 move, thus far. It took till the Outrider before one had all the banks and turns, and that's a large base.
Scum Y's with unhinged astromec will have everything 1-3 except for the 1 turn in green or white

It's called the phantom. Who needs 1 banks and 5 forwards when you can essentially do a 1 white sideways k turn? Or in echo's case, a white zero segnor's loop?
Also, b wing has all the 1s and twos and all of the 3's. Only missing a 5 straight?
B wing has no hard 3.

phantom is irrelevant because it has a tie fight dial without the 5 straight. It does not have all the 1 manuevers
B-wing has a similar dial to the Starviper, identical even, except for the reds and the 2k
The red maneuvers are a massive difference, though, because it greatly affects how flexibly each ship can abuse its dial. The Starviper can preform any of the range one manuevers until the cows come home. The B-wing can only use the 1 hard once every other turn, if he limits himself to his greens on the turn after, or not preform any other red maneuvers for the rest of the game.
When stress inflicting mechanics are introduced, this lack of flexibility begins to show a whole lot more.

I don't know that you're wrong, but I don't know that you're right. The 1-turn is great, but the 3-turn gets a lot done too. It can increase or decrease distance much better than the 1-turn, and it's awesome for getting around asteroids that you're next to. The S-loops are great, but a pair of K-turn options are pretty nice, as is the option to do both 1-straight and 5 straight (the only ship in the game that does that, I think). Honestly, I'm surprised the E-wing's dial doesn't get more love. It seems like a pretty excellent general purpose dial.

I agree with Vorpal, having the choice, I would take the 1 turn any day over the 3 turn. The 3 turn is nice to go around an asteroid, but the 1 turn is great to help navigate into the asteroid field. It is also more useful in a close fight. So, I know the 3 turn as a lot of value (I've been playing a lot with Defenders and Bombers so I had no choice but to exploit this maneuver to its fullest), but I think the 1 turn just have more.
It would also have been nice if the Starviper had access to one straight k-turn, pretty much like the Aggressor has, the S-Loop and the 4 K-turn.
In my opinion, the E-Wing dial is pretty nice, the Starviper dial is just nicer.
I was playing around with an online card creator and being able to do all the 1 speed moves skyrocketed the price, it was kind of interesting, I got a PS2 ship with A wing stats up to 24 points fairly easily
